    Charlton 0-0 Portsmouth

We've barely got going and Charlton have already tested Nicolas Schmid in the Portsmouth goal.

Harry Clarke got in behind on the end of a long ball over the top and forces a save out of the Pompey keeper with barely 80 seconds on the clock.

There was a minute's applause at The Valley before kick-off to remember Norman Barker, the Charlton fan who sadly passed away the previous time this fixture was played.

Players from both sides all stood in the middle of the pitch as fans all stood on their feet in the stands for the moment of remembrance.

We are getting under way in both of our matches. That really crepe'd up on us, we batter believe it's another flipping good night which stacks up in the Championship (come on, it is Pancake Day!)

Portsmouth are in the midst of the Championship relegation fight hovering just a point and a place outside the bottom three as it stands.

Two defeats in their two most recent games has compounded their troubles, as has their away form this season with Pompey winning just two of 14 games on the road so far.

John Mousinho's side have also not scored in their past two games - 1-0 defeats to Preston and Sheffield United - and the manager wants a "strong start" from his side as well as them to be more clinical in front of goal.

"Unfortunately, over the past couple of weeks I think we've controlled games, we've also created chances but we haven't put the ball in the back of the net," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"We've just got to add the goals at the top end of the pitch. Everything underpinning the performance [against Sheffield United] was good but we didn't put the ball in the back of the net at the crucial times."

  6. Charlton trending in upwards directionpublished at 19:36 GMT 17 February

    Charlton v Portsmouth (19:45 GMT)

Two wins and a draw in Charlton's past three games has helped them open up daylight between themselves and the bottom three - a seven point gap, in fact.

Another win tonight would move the Addicks beyond the fabled 40-point mark, which is no means a confirmation that they are safe from relegation but another sign they are very much trending in the right direction as we head into the final quarter of the campaign.

What has likely been just as pleasing as the unbeaten run for manager Nathan Jones is the fact his side have kept clean sheets in all of their past three games (2-0 Leicester, 1-0 Stoke, and a 0-0 draw with QPR).

Charlton have however only won two of their past seven league games against Portsmouth and it was the Solent side who came away with a 2-1 win when these two met in December.

Bristol City v Wrexham (19:45 GMT)

One change for Bristol City to their starting XI tonight as Mark Sykes comes in for Ross McCrorie, with Tomi Horvat making his first Robins start at Ashton Gate since signing in January.

But the big news for home fans is on the bench as Max Bird is included among the substitutes for his first appearance since September due to a long-term calf injury, while captain Jason Knight also returns following an ankle injury.

Three changes for Wrexham this evening as Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Nathan Broadhead all come into the starting line-up.

No place for Zak Vyner in the matchday squad though to face his former side after transferring to Wrexham just a few weeks ago. He's still recovering from an injury.

  8. Wrexham look to bring 'A-game'published at 19:31 GMT 17 February

Wrexham are right up there in terms of the best performing Championship sides away from home at the moment and it's been a big part of their move up the table - they have won their past four games on the road.

Despite having plenty of possession and almost all of the chances, however, they were unable to find a way past Millwall in their most recent league game - falling to a 2-0 defeat.

Manager Phil Parkinson said his side will have to bring their "A-game" when they face another of their play-off rivals tonight.

"They're in the mix, so are we. It is a game against another team who have been up there for a while," Parkinson said.

"Every game has got an edge to it because there are so many teams in contention, the whole division has a lot to play for.

"It's a great challenge going to these established teams, but we're concentrating on ourselves and how we keep improving."

  9. Will Robins or Dragons move into top six?published at 19:29 GMT 17 February

Bristol City v Wrexham (19:45 GMT)

A point and a place in the table is all that separates Bristol City from their opponents Wrexham going into this evening, as they both seek a win to keep up their play-off chasing ambitions.

Both sides are outside the top six as it stands by a point (Wrexham) and two points (Bristol City) meaning a win tonight will take either side up to sixth and push Derby down a spot.

You have to go back 21 years to April 2005 for the last time Bristol City hosted the Welsh outfit in a league match. Ashton Gate has proved solid ground for the Robins in recent seasons although they will not want a repeat of their last outing at home just over two weeks ago, when they were thrashed 5-0 by the Rams.

The Robins' did get the better of high-flying Hull after that, but their form has been inconsistent in recent weeks - they last recorded back-to-back league wins in December.

  10. Coventry make statement with Boro victorypublished at 19:27 GMT 17 February

    Monday night recap

Haji Wright in action for Coventry against MiddlesbroughImage source, Shutterstock

Before we focus on tonight's action it's worth us all just pausing to take another look back at the humdinger of a game we had last night, as Coventry took on Middlesbrough in a top-of-the-table clash that lived up to it's highly anticipated billing.

Haji Wright scored a hat-trick as the Sky Blues beat Boro 3-1 in a statement victory to leapfrog back above their opponents to the Championship summit and end a shaky run of form for Frank Lampard's side.

Coventry's league lead over Middlesbrough is just a slender point - and there are still 14 games of the season to go - but it looks like we're set for a thrilling contest between the two as the title race starts to get to the pointy end.

  11. Good eveningpublished at 19:25 GMT 17 February

Hello and welcome along to our Championship coverage where we have not one but two rearranged fixtures to bring you.

Portsmouth's trip to Charlton was abandoned during the first half in December due to a medical emergency, leading to the passing of Addicks fan Norman Barker.

Bristol City meanwhile were due to host Wrexham on Friday night but with both sides still in the FA Cup, the game was pushed back by four days.

Both matches kick-off in 30 minutes time so let's get going.
