Whenever Bristol City get a sniff of getting back into the top six we bottle it. Home form far too inconsistent to be in consideration for the play-offs. Wrexham by far the better side tonight.

    Sean

What is happening at Ashton Gate, Wrexham all over us, so strong.

    Alison

Bristol City fans not the happiest with what they're seeing from their team so far tonight.

  5. How things stand at the bottom of the tablepublished at 20:43 GMT 17 February

Portsmouth would close the gap on their opponents Charlton if things stay as they are.

As things stand they'd move up to 19th, four points clear of the relegation zone.

  6. Third time lucky?published at 20:41 GMT 17 February

    HT: Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

    Ian Mitchelmore
    BBC Sport Wales

Wrexham are yet to win in their blue and white striped third kit this season.

They drew 1-1 at Middlesbrough and lost 2-0 at Hull City in this particular strip.

A case of third time lucky tonight, perhaps?

They're on course to break that duck, and more importantly, return to the top six.

    Championship table 1-10

Here's how things stand in the play-off race at the moment - Wrexham would move up to sixth if they leave Ashton Gate with all three points tonight.

  8. 'Work for City to do'published at 20:38 GMT 17 February

    HT: Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

    Gary Owers
Former Sunderland & Bristol City midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

Wrexham have played the better football.

They've had the ball under very little pressure. There's a lot to play for and we've just allowed them to play it around the back at will.

There's a lot of work to do for City in the second half.

  9. 'Pompey must win from here'published at 20:36 GMT 17 February

    HT: Charlton 0-2 Portsmouth

    Glen Little
Ex-Portsmouth winger on BBC Radio Solent

You could say we were unlucky on Saturday, but we've not been unlucky tonight.

We've got to go on now and win the game. It's a dangerous scoreline 2-0, no two halves of football are the same.

We've got to be wary of Charlton coming out and going up a gear or two, but it's been a great first half from Pompey.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 GMT 17 February

    Charlton 0-2 Portsmouth

Portsmouth very much in control this opening 45 minutes, thanks to goals from Terry Devlin and a penalty from Colby Bishop.

Charlton have had little to ring home about so far and also have five players on yellow cards already. Changes to come from Nathan Jones perhaps?

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 GMT 17 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

A few boos from the home fans at Ashton Gate as Bristol City go in at the break 1-0 down to Wrexham thanks to Ollie Rathbone's volley 11 minutes before the break.

No shots on target yet from the hosts.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:31 GMT 17 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

Issa Kabore tries to take a run with the ball and is nudged in the back by Neto Borges, who goes into the referees book.

Ollie Rathbone sends the resulting free-kick into the box and the visitors have numbers forward, but it bounces around twice before going out for a goal kick.

Portsmouth came into this game having only won twice this season away from home, scoring just nine goals in their 14 games on the road.

Tonight they're already two goals to the good and very much on their way to a win as it stands. What a first-half they've had.

  14. 'City need a reshuffle'published at 20:27 GMT 17 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

    Gary Owers
Former Sunderland & Bristol City midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

There's no attempt from City to put any pressure on the ball, Wrexham are playing through their half-hearted press.

There's no rhythm or pattern of play to be seen from City. They've got to dig in, get to half-time, and have a reshuffle.

  15. Super Rathbonepublished at 20:25 GMT 17 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Wrexham

    Ian Mitchelmore
    BBC Sport Wales

He didn't make his first league appearance of the season until December after missing several months through injury.

But that's a fine finish from Ollie Rathbone - his sixth goal in his past 14 appearances across all competitions.

What an impact he's had since returning.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:24 GMT 17 February

    Charlton 0-2 Portsmouth

The yellow cards have not stopped coming... Thomas Kaminski now into the book for Charlton for talking back to the referee right before Colby Bishop's penalty.

And then Lloyd Jones follows him, for what looks like repeated fouling.

That takes it up to five players cautioned for the hosts and we're not even at half-time.

  17. goal

GOAL: Charlton 0-2 Portsmouthpublished at 20:22 GMT 17 February

  18. 'That could be the game'published at 20:21 GMT 17 February

    Charlton 0-2 Portsmouth

    Glen Little
Ex-Portsmouth winger on BBC Radio Solent

I don't want to speak too soon, but that could be the game.

You have to say it's a very impressive performance so far. They're so in control. the midfield has been outstanding.

  19. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 0-1 Wrexhampublished at 20:20 GMT 17 February

    Oliie Rathbone (34 mins)

    Deadlock broken at Ashton Gate.

Ollie Rathbone sends Wrexham in front against Bristol City having prospered from a deflected ball into the box, as he lifts a left-footed volley home.

This is a huge game in the Championship play-off picture and Wrexham are up to sixth as it stands.

  20. 'Huge opportunity for Pompey'published at 20:20 GMT 17 February

    Charlton 0-1 Portsmouth

    Glen Little
Ex-Portsmouth winger on BBC Radio Solent

The referee took his time, straight away I thought it was handball.

What a big opportunity this is for Pompey.
