    Stevenage 0-0 Luton

Stevenage's Jamie Reid times his run just right and has Luton keeper Josh Keeley beaten but the stopper's team-mates are quick to put in a vital block and retain parity.

The home side have been in good form lately and it's showing here.

Could they get an early goal to settle some nerves? That's if they have any.

  2. 'The wind is really disrupting the game'published at 15:15 BST 4 October 2025

    Cardiff 0-0 Leyton Orient

    Dafydd Pritchard

I'm sure it's the same up and down the leagues today, but the wind really is disrupting this game.

If an aerial pass is just slightly overhit, it could end up anywhere.

Cardiff and Leyton Orient are struggling to get a grip of this match as a result.

  3. 'Good to watch from both teams'published at 15:13 BST 4 October 2025

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stockport

    Paul Ogden
Huddersfield Town commentator, BBC Radio Leeds

This is a good game to watch from both teams.

We have seen this pattern of play before of allowing the opposition to have possession of the ball.

My word! Less than 10 minutes and we've had not one but TWO goals already.

Bolton's Marston Burstow finds the corner in the fifth minute to take the lead against basement dwellers Peterborough.

Shortly after, Tyler Roberts tap-in puts Mansfield Town ahead of Reading thanks to some good running from team-mate Rhys Oates.

    Both lead 1-0.

  5. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 4 October 2025

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stockport

Both sides definitely want to attack this one.

Kyle Wootton gets an effort away from Tyler Onyango's cross and Lee Nicholls makes a good save in the home goal.

  6. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 4 October 2025

    Salford 0-1 Grimsby

Grimsby really have come out of the traps here.

Darragh Burns going close this time. His cross narrowly avoids the far post.

  7. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 4 October 2025

    Walsall 0-0 Bristol Rovers

Bryant Bilongo of Bristol Rovers is the first man to test either goalkeeper as he collects the ball from the already impressive Fabrizio Cavegn and Myles Roberts pushes the shot away.

Cavegn has scored three goals in his past three games and is looking lively for the visitors.

Luton have a chance to strike early as they rush onto the counter-attack but Cohen Bramall lifts his shot just a tad too high.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stockport

An early warning from Huddersfield and their unbeaten home record.

Ben Wiles gets a shot away which deflects off Brad Hills and trickles inches wide of the post.

  11. goal

GOAL: Salford 0-1 Grimsbypublished at 15:03 BST 4 October 2025

    Evan Khouri (1 min)

    What a start for Grimsby.

It was a break down the left wing and Charles Vernam finds Evan Khouri to score his fourth of the season.

    Talk about fast starts.

  12. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 4 October 2025

    Walsall 0-0 Bristol Rovers

Walsall go with the same team which started last weekend's 3-1 win at Accrington.

There's no Joel Cotterill for Bristol Rovers while Clinton Mola and Taylor Moore are on the bench.

In come Kacper Lopata, Luke Thomas and Bryant Bilongo.

  13. Postpublished at 15:00 BST 4 October 2025

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stockport

Both sides are unchanged from their previous league games.

Huddersfield revert back to the team which beat Exeter seven days ago.

Stockport boss Dave Challinor goes with the team which earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Reading.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:00 BST 4 October 2025

    League One & League Two

We had plenty of goal-mouth action in our four early kick-offs.

No pressure for the remainder of our afternoon games but it would be nice if they could keep delivering the drama.

    Let's find out, shall we?

  15. Tankiewicz in line to break Ramsey's Cardiff recordpublished at 14:57 BST 4 October 2025

Cardiff v Leyton Orient (15:00 BST)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

There could be a long-standing record broken at Cardiff today with a new name on the bench.

If 16-year-old academy product Rob Tankiewicz comes on against Leyton Orient, he'll become the Bluebirds' youngest player of all time.

The current record is held by Aaron Ramsey, who made his debut at 16 years and 123 days old against Hull City in April 2007, breaking John Toshack's benchmark that had previously stood for 42 years.

As of today, central midfielder Tankiewicz is 16 years and 114 days old.

What's wrong at Shrewsbury town? Non-league next season!

    Stephen

Second bottom of League Two following relegation last season and a second takeover deal recently collapsing in the space of six months. It's not been the most enjoyable time for Shrews fans. They're away at Barrow today - start of the turnaround?

Cheltenham Town new manager Steve Cotterill talks about returning & the challenges ahead.

Chesterfield, who sit sixth in the congested play-off positions, visit a Colchester side who have won just one of their opening 10 league games this season.

Cambridge will be hoping to put a some pressure on teams just above them in the table and get closer to those play-off places when they welcome Crawley.

Likewise will be Fleetwood who make the journey to bottom club Cheltenham who will have a familiar face in their dugout at the EV Charger Points Stadium. Steve Cotterill takes charge of his first game 23 years after returning and replacing Michael Flynn earlier in the week. He has a massive task ahead to steer the Robins away from danger. They have one win in 10 games so far this season, while they have the lowest goal scoring tally in the division with four and the most conceded with 24.

Struggling Tranmere who are winless in their past five in the league travel to Bromley who are also winless but in their past four. Both side desperate for three points in this one.

And second from bottom Shrewsbury will be aiming to avoid making it four defeats on the bounce when they travel to a Barrow side who in turn will be hoping to notch their third win in a row.

  18. Mariners to continue goalscoring form at the Peninsula?published at 14:53 BST 4 October 2025

    Salford v Grimsby (15:00)

    Jamie WalkerImage source, Rex Features

It’s fourth (Salford) v fifth (Grimsby) as these two promotion-chasers go head-to-head at the Peninsula Stadium with one point separating the two sides.

Salford missed the chance to go joint top, go five games unbeaten and make it four wins on the spin after they were stunned by Bristol Rovers in a 2-1 defeat last weekend.

Karl Robinson will know the importance of his side’s latest assignment given not only that result but how close these two are in the league.

The Ammies are unbeaten across their past four home league games with three wins and one draw. Haji Mnoga is unavailable today with concussion. The defender had his red card in last Saturday's match at Bristol Rovers overturned but injury sees Jorge Grant come in.

Grimsby go into today’s game off the back of a 7-1 thrashing of basement side Cheltenham.

The Mariners have lost just two of their past 14 away league games, though will be looking to avoid losing successive matches on the road for the first time since January earlier this year.

Jamie Walker, who scored a brilliant brace against Cheltenham, will be looking to continue his good form after netting his first goals of the season. The former Bradford man starts on the bench for David Artell's side.

  19. Cavegn out to unsettle Saddlerspublished at 14:51 BST 4 October 2025

Walsall v Bristol Rovers (15:00 BST)

Fabrizio Cavegn celebrating a goal for Bristol RoversImage source, Rex Features

Being around top spot in League Two? Oh, that's familiar territory for Walsall and their supporters but those fans will also tell you it's not how you start but how you finish.

A Devon Loch style collapse from runaway leaders to play-off failure still stings a little in the West Midlands but Mat Sadler has steadied the ship and here we are again.

The Saddlers tally of 22 points from their 10 games is their best start to a season since 2006 - they were promoted at the end of that campaign by the way.

Bristol Rovers ride into town feeling pretty happy about things themselves.

Having lost their opening three games after relegation last season, Darrell Clarke's men are unbeaten in the subsequent seven outings with five victories.

In Fabrizio Cavegn they also have one of the division's in-form strikers with three goals in his past three matches for the Swiss forward.

  20. Elsewhere in League Onepublished at 14:48 BST 4 October 2025

    League One

AFC Wimbledon's three-match winning streak puts them in the top six but to guarantee they stay there they will need to defeat a Blackpool side desperate to avoid becoming bottom of the pack.

Peterborough will be hoping they can escape the basement as they visit Bolton Wanderers.

Plymouth will hope to leapfrog visitors Wigan by consolidating last week's stellar performance over the Brewers.

Port Vale seek a fourth successive win as they host Northampton.

Only a win for Reading will guarantee they don't fall into the bottom four as they welcome mid-pack Mansfield Town.
