Lucy Bronze plays a blind pass back to her keeper, and Shannon O'Brien has read that well, intercepting it, and slots it into the back of the net.You got to keep switched on.

    Ooof.

Chelsea gift the ball to Hannah Cain in their own half and are almost punished for a second time.

She spots Livia Peng off her line and goes for the spectacular from near the halfway line but it drops just wide of the target.

    Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

Uh oh a nervy moment in the Leicester defence as Sam Kerr leaps at the front post in an attempt to toe poke in Johanna Rytting Kaneryd's umpteenth cross.

She misses but it forces Foxes keeper Katie Keane to spill the catch which she hurriedly gathers at the second opportunity.

Leicester City have now scored 11 goals in the WSL this season - O'Brien has got five of them.

This one came from the side's first shot on target in the game.

Out of absolutely nothing Leicester have one back!

It's a poor error from Lucy Bronze who sells keeper Livia Peng very short with a back pass and that allows Shannon O'Brien to race onto the loose ball and slide a finish round the keeper and into the net.

It's a pleasure to watch Lauren James play football. Pure quality.

    Simon

Lauren James is a supremely talented player, but I guess we all know that by now.

    Saeed

Spot on Simon and Saeed, nothing to add.

    Leicester City 0-3 Chelsea

A brief glimmer of an opportunity for Leicester as they work it neatly through the thirds and then out wide for Hannah Cain. The Welsh winger opts for the early cross but slices it and the ball instead lands on the roof of the Chelsea net.

It’s just too easy for Lauren James isn’t it. It looks like she is on the training pitch. It doesn’t look like she’s broken out of a sweat, and I think she took one step back to have that strike on goal.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is having the run of the right wing.

Her cross is a little overhit on this occasion but that means it actually falls perfectly into the step of the arriving Niamh Charles, but her finish is scuffed straight at Katie Keane.

Speak of the devil, Lauren James has done it again!

The midfielder steps up to take a free kick on the edge of the D, nonchalantly swinging her right leg back to whip the ball up and over the wall and into the back of the net.

    Simply sublime.

Lauren James take a bow, what a beauty of a goal

    Gbenga

Her team-mate Ellie Carpenter just stood and clapped after watching it sail in. Perfect response.

  12. 'James makes it look so easy'published at 15:02 BST 3 May

    Leicester City 0-3 Chelsea

    Lindsay Johnson

Incredible! What a goal! Chelsea just move the ball one and two touch, moving it quickly, when Lauren James just gets it under her feet, sends the defender the wrong way, doesn’t even look up and curls it into that far top corner. The goalkeeper is in full stretch, but the pace takes it into that far net. Lauren James makes it look so easy, and her footwork is fantastic at the edge of the box.

    Leicester City 0-2 Chelsea

A brief stoppage in play allows Rick Passmoor to call his Leicester players over to the sideline for a quick pep talk.

There's lots of arm waving and smiling, he's trying to keep positive despite the side's precarious position in this game and the league table.

In case you're just tuning in, here's that opener from Sam Kerr again.

A superb header to bring up that big personal landmark of becoming Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer in the WSL.

Unfortunately for Leicester that goal rounds up the big five zero in terms of goals conceded. 50 in 21 games in 2025-26.

    Bang. 2-0 Chelsea.

It's a beauty from Lauren James, who picks the ball up around 30 yards out, turns and smashes a shot high into the top right corner. Nothing at all that keeper Katie Keane can do, she's well beaten.

    Leicester City 0-1 Chelsea

Safety first from Leicester defender Sarah Mayling as another devilish Johanna Ryting Kaneryd cross from the right lands at the back post.

Again the blues, well whites today, can't engineer an opportunity from the corner.

  18. 'Kaptein needs to direct it downwards - it's a sitter'published at 14:55 BST 3 May

    Leicester City 0-1 Chelsea

    Lindsay Johnson
Former Everton defender on BBC Two

I don’t know how she has missed that! She would be really disappointed. It’s great play, and that chip from Lauren James is so nonchalant, over the top of Ellie Carpenter, and it’s a really good cross into the box from Rytting Kaneryd and Kaptein needs to direct it downwards. She’ll be disappointed, she’s missed a sitter there.

    Leicester City 0-1 Chelsea

The Leicester fans are doing their bit to throw Chelsea off their game, giving it the "woooooaaah" big build up whenever any player in white prepares to take a set piece.

Erin Cuthbert's corner delivery is poor in the immediate aftermath so mission accomplished perhaps.

Got to admit that did make me chuckle.
