Sandy Baltimore has been growing into this game since she entered the fray at half time. She has her first chance to make a telling opportunity as a ball bounces kindly in the box, but she smashes her volley miles over the crossbar.

It’s really good from Leicester how they have changed their mentality as they are playing much higher up on the pitch, trying to put balls in behind and run at Chelsea’s backline. It’s much better from Leicester.

I do think that it is more about O'Brien's neck and the way that her head hits the floor. It is that sort of whiplash, the impact on her neck. Hopefully the medical team can do some work on her there.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 54 mins

    Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

Time for Leicester boss Rick Passmoor to ring in the changes, three of them, as Ashleigh Neville, Alisha Lehmann and Noemie Mouchon replace Asmita Ale, Shannon O'Brien and Hannah Cain.

No risks taken with O'Brien after all, probably for the best given it was a head injury.

Thankfully for Leicester top scorer Shannon O'Brien is back on and looking ok to continue. She even has a little smirk on her face, clearly in good enough spirits to see the funny side of her innocuous slip.

I think that Shannon O'Brien falls really awkwardly. She slips. We saw before that the pitch was heavily watered at half-time, and I’m not sure, if it’s more whiplash, she just takes a wallop as she slips, head hits the floor.

Play resumes and Lucy Bronze looks to curl a cross into the middle but the Foxes do well to clear even though they're a player light.

Yep, the medics are quickly on to enact concussion protocols. It was a hefty whack so I wouldn't be surprised to see her withdrawn.

    Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Shannon O'Brien will need some treatment here. In trying to mop up danger at the back she slips and her head crashes down against the turf.

When you are 3-1 up you can definitely afford to rotate. You are also bringing on established internationals like Sandy Baltimore, I know Leicester will be happy Lauren James is coming off but the energy, speed and pace that Baltimore brings on that left-hand side.

Sjoeke Nusken is an out and out box to box player in that midfield area for Chelsea. She can get into the box and score goes. Two fantastic players to bring off the bench.

This is much better from Leicester. While taking points from this game remains the longest of long shots, they are in dire need of a confidence boost and a good second half display against a team of Chelsea's quality will do exactly that.

The Foxes can't fashion a chance from that one but they've got another after re-working another cross into the middle that's cleared.

Julie Thibaud is the danger again as she steals in behind Lexi Potter at the back post but can't quite direct her header on target.

Lively start from Leicester who will be looking to carry on that momentum garnered late in the first half.

Julie Thibuad capitalises on a strange header from Sjoeke Nusken in her own box to shoot at goal but it's deflected behind for a corner.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:34 BST 3 May

The tall figure of Emily van Egmond gets us back under way for the second half.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:33 BST 3 May

    HT: Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor has turned to her bench at the break, no doubt with the FA Cup semi-final against Man City next week in the back of her mind.

No hat-trick for Lauren James as she's replaced by Sandy Baltimore. Sjoeke Nusken is also on for skipper Erin Cuthbert.

    HT: Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea were averaging 4.3 goals per game against Leicester City in the Women's Super League before today (39 scored in 9 meetings to date).

If they play anywhere near the level they did in the first half they'll surely maintain that figure.

O’Brien has surely got to be on the radar of other WSL teams she’s way too good for Leicester

    John

    You've got a point, John.

She's been key for them this season but it's hard to see her remaining at the club beyond this summer given her quality, particularly if the Foxes fail to win that relegation play-off against Charlton on 23 May.

Just look at those xG numbers.

Chelsea's quality has got them outperforming theirs, while Leicester's have been efficient with theirs.

It’s been better from Leicester. They are on the front foot, chasing those balls. They have gotten a little bit of that fire in their belly since that goal from O’Brien. It’s been a much better 10 minutes towards the end of that second half from them.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:19 BST 3 May

    Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

It was total domination from Chelsea for 42 minutes, with superb goals from Sam Kerr and Lauren James putting them in cruise control.

Yet one lapse in concentration let Leicester back in, and another almost had them withing touching distance.

Plenty for both managers to ponder at the break then.
