With a Champions League football spot on the line, Arne Slot will not want to take any risks of letting West Ham get the better of the Reds at Anfield.

Florian Wirtz is a major doubt ahead of the weekend. He was named in Liverpool's starting XI against Nottingham Forest last weekend but pulled out after not feeling 100% in the warm-up.

Slot later revealed that Wirtz had been struggling with his back ahead of the game, with an update expected in his pre-match press conference.

Slot could also welcome back Jeremie Frimpong, who was forced off just four minutes into last month's Champions League win over Qarabag, with his absence causing issues at right-back for Slot.

Last week it was Alexis Mac Allister to the rescue for Liverpool, scoring a 97th-minute winner against Nottingham Forest, who gave Arne Slot and his side a real headache. It was a huge finish to a match which had been largely without goalmouth action.

As Liverpool strive to keep their Champions League football hopes alive, they currently sit in 6th, with Chelsea in 5th on goal difference. Slot's side face strugglers West Ham on Saturday, a game Liverpool fans will expect to be an easy three points at Anfield, while also hoping Chelsea slip up away to league leaders Arsenal.
