  2. How does the knockout stage draw work?published at 10:58 GMT 27 February

    Champions League

The Champions League Round of 16 will witness the eight winners of the play-offs meeting the clubs who finished in the top eight in the league phase.

As with the play-offs, teams' final ranking in the league phase will influence seeding in the last 16, with seeded sides - those that finished in the top eight of the league - being given the advantage of playing second legs at home.

This is the first season that the position in which teams have placed in the league phase will also influence seeding for the quarter-final and semi-finals.

Teams finishing first to fourth at the end of the league phase will be seeded for the quarter-finals, and therefore given the home advantage in their quarter-final tie second legs.

The two sides who finish top and runner-up in the league will also be seeded for the semi-finals, earning them the benefit of playing the second leg of their semis at home should they reach that stage.

If a seeded team does not progress to the quarter or semi-finals, the team that knocks them out will inherit their seeding position.

Give me Bodo/Glimt, if we're going out of this competition it better be at their benefit. I'm not handing Madrid a pass into the next round.

On Adam Smith now holding Bournemouth's all-time record for appearances with 250: "We have proved that we value him with him signing a new contract. He's still going and fighting, 250 PL games are a lot and you need to be very good. It's fully deserved because every time we need him, he's there."

I actually can’t with Slot. Last season he seemed so balanced. Now he just waffles, excuses and offers nothing insightful. The fact that we’re 6th and he’s making out that this is some sort of achievement is a joke. End of the season, P45 and leavers party.

Newcastle v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on facing the Toffees: “We have got to build our rhythm back at St. James' Park. Hopefully, now we can build some rhythm and get a good feeling back at our home ground - it is really important for us.

"Everton have done well on their travels this year. They're a tough team to beat. Defensively, they have been very strong. Historically, from David's [Moyes] teams, they're difficult to score against."

  15. 'We love Woltemade's style'published at 10:15 GMT 27 February

Newcastle v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade's development: "I think the focus longer term would be on his development and transition into the Premier League.

"I still think there is a physical adaption taking place. If we had free training week, we would be pushing him physically.

"The Premier League is the quickest league statistically in the world by some distance. I still think there is growth in him which we haven’t been able to unlock. We love his style."

  16. 'Just grateful we can't get Man City'published at 10:10 GMT 27 February

Newcastle v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on the upcoming Champions League draw: "Really special and really positive for us. I think we are just grateful we can't get Man City! We are looking forward to what the draw brings and we will look forward to that game when it comes around."

On possibly facing Chelsea or Barcelona in the last-16 of the draw: "A strange occurrence - you could play them [Chelsea] three times in a week.

"We had a great game against them here – I thought we were outstanding. I really respect them and of course they have a new manager since that game.

"The Barcelona game at home was very similar, I thought we played well.

"We’re in a great position – whoever we get is mouth-watering for us.”

  17. 'Always rumour and speculation'published at 10:05 GMT 27 February

Newcastle v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Anthony Gordon being linked to Arsenal, external:"In the age we’re at, there is always rumour and speculation.

"I don’t see probably 90% of it. It comes with the territory of being a top player. You have got to put it out of your brain and focus on the football.

"I have not seen the story, so it is news to me.

"It is sort of your industry creating those stories. I am slightly secluded to it – if you don’t read it, you don’t know who is being linked with who.

"I think it is irrelevant really – it is how the players react to that. I think they will become robust enough to ignore it and concentrate on playing."

  18. 'We have to treat Guimaraes injury carefully'published at 10:00 GMT 27 February

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Bruno Guimaraes' injury update: "I have had some good contact with Bruno. He seems very positive with his injury and how he feels. He has done a lot of work. He is being well looked after as well. We hope that he can come back and give us a push at the back end of the season. We have to treat his injury carefully."

On Lewis Miley's injury update: "We have just been advised with Lewis to be careful with this injury. It was a dead leg, a knock. There was some muscle disruption. He has had a couple of injections and I think he has one more to come. I think we’re waiting for a couple of weeks for Lewis. We are being careful to get him back in a good place."

It's hard with young players, especially making a debut at 16/17. Trying to keep your longevity when playing a demanding position like winger is difficult. Ngumoha is class and I say that as a rival. He shouldn't play whole games yet. He needs preserving. Sterling is a good example why.

    Harry, Manchester

It's hard to decide whether Ngumoha should be starting in matches ahead of Gakpo. Don't get me wrong, he has all the talent, ability and confidence you want in a winger, but he's still a teenager and is somebody we can't risk injuring. Chiesa could play on the left instead.

  20. Livramento set for March return and Ramsey a doubt for Everton gamepublished at 09:54 GMT 27 February

Newcastle v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Tino Livramento's injury update: "I think Tino will be early March. We still think he is on track for that. He has been training, not with us, but separately running for a period time.

"When he comes back, he will be in a good place. I don't think it is too long to wait."

On Jacob Ramsey's injury update: "We hope that he will train today - fingers crossed for tomorrow."
