"These are the games you live for, games that you come into football for. It's going to be a great tie. But we've got another three games before that, that I need to focus on."

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior on team news before facing Arsenal: "Reece [James] is absolutely fine. Romeo [Lavia] is getting stronger and stronger. We had a mini practice match in the week where he looked really good.

"Estevao [Willian] will be out for a little bit longer and Jamie Gittens is progressing in his rehab. Marc Cucurella is not available for Sunday but hopefully we can get him back quickly as soon as possible.

"Dario Essugo is back on the training pitch, too. Hope is that we can get them back and fit in the run-in."

Everton boss David Moyes on facing Newcastle: “It was a great win for us [last season against Newcastle] considering Newcastle were trying to qualify for the Champions League, and they did in the end. It is always good to try back it up if we can.

"I think the Premier League is like that [competitive]. There is a lot of teams, and one result can send you up a bit or send you down a bit. Depending on how it goes.

"Newcastle have done remarkable - last 16 in the Champions League. So great credit to them, but yes it can have an effect on your Premier League games - your bread and butter really.

"He [Eddie Howe] has given Newcastle success, he has won a trophy for them, he has given them European football, and I am sure all the Geordies are all happy watching."

Everton

Everton boss David Moyes on Toffees midfielder James Garner: “I think James Garner has played really well this season. He is predominantly a midfield player, but he can play in several positions.

“We have had to play him at right-back at times because we think he is as good as anyone there. Midfield he has been excellent. I believe he is getting close to the levels to play for his country – he could possibly get selected.”

Everton boss David Moyes on the Toffees playing without Jack Grealish: “We are without Jack Grealish, who made a huge impact in the early part of the season for us. Hopefully, we can overcome those parts of the game, but Newcastle are a good side, and they have been good teams in Europe. It is not going to be an easy game."

On younger players in the squad pushing for a starting spot: "Some of them quite close, some of them not so close. We are trying to keep our ambitions going and trying to be in the top part of the league. I want to play the players that have the best chance of getting us a result."

Everton boss David Moyes on Charly Alcaraz's injury: "Charly Alcaraz has an injury which probably will keep him out up to three weeks or four weeks. He picked it up in the last minute of training on Sunday.

“He would have probably started on Monday night [against Man Utd] if he had not picked up the injury.”
