  3. No changes for Saints or Watfordpublished at 12:24 GMT 7 February

    Southampton v Watford (12:31 GMT)

Both managers have stuck with the same line-ups from their previous games, with no changes for either side to their starting XI this lunchtime.

New Southampton striker Cyle Larin could however make his debut today, after signing from RCD Mallorca on loan on deadline day. He's one of three changes on the bench, with Cameron Archer and Samuel Edozie also added among the replacements.

Interim Watford boss Charlie Daniels has also stuck with the same side for his second game in the dugout and has made just the one change among his subs - Saba Goglichidze comes in for Kevin Keben.

  4. Saints look up the table at struggling Hornetspublished at 12:22 GMT 7 February

    Southampton v Watford (12:31 GMT)

It’s once again been quite the week for Watford fans, with the club still searching for a new manager following Javi Gracia’s resignation last weekend.

The Hornets weathered the disruption well enough to draw 0-0 with high-flying Hull on Tuesday, 48 hours after the Spaniard stepped down, but remain without a win in five games (three draws, two losses) during which time they’ve scored only two goals.

Still, somehow Watford remain just three points outside the top six with opponents today, Southampton, four points behind them.

Saints have put together a decent run over the past fortnight, with two wins and a draw in their past three games.

Yet this is their first outing since top scorer Adam Armstrong left on deadline day for Wolves as they try to continue to mount a push for the top six without him.

  5. Norwich unchanged; two alterations for Blackburnpublished at 12:20 GMT 7 February

Norwich City boss Philippe Clement saw his side's three-match winning run in the league come to an end at second-placed Middlesbrough last Saturday. No shame in losing that game though so he goes with the same XI.

New additions Sam Field and Mohamed Toure both start their Canaries careers on the bench.

Blackburn caretaker Damien Johnson makes two changes from the side that started the midweek win over beleaguered Sheffield Wednesday.

Ryan Alebiosu and Yuki Ohashi return to the starting line-up. Skipper Todd Cantwell makes his first return to the club he made 120 league appearances for.

It's been a strong start to the year for Norwich as they look to clamber away from relegation danger.

Despite falling to a 1-0 defeat at high-flying Middlesbrough last week, the Canaries have won four of their six Championship games in 2026.

That run means they begin today one point clear of the relegation zone and one point above today's visitors.

Blackburn, under caretaker Damien Johnson after Valerien Ismael left on Monday, visit East Anglia off the back of their first league win since 20 December with a 1-0 success over administration-hit Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

  7. Rams debut for Murkin; Ipswich change onepublished at 12:16 GMT 7 February

    Derby v Ipswich (12:31 GMT)

Derby bring goalkeeper Josh Vickers into their side with Richard O'Donnell among the substitutes.

New signing Derry Murkin goes straight into the starting line-up while Danny Batth replaces the absent Dion Sanderson in central defence. Callum Elder also misses out.

The Rams are unable to include forward Sammie Szmodics as he is on loan from today's opponents.

Ipswich make one change from the side which drew with Preston seven days ago as Jack Taylor replaces Jens Cajuste who drops to the bench.

Jaden Philogene remains sidelined through injury.

  8. Derby and Ipswich on the up?published at 12:14 GMT 7 February

    Derby v Ipswich (12:31 GMT)

Derby are refreshed, Ipswich mean business - this should be good.

The Rams cleared out six players in January, freeing up space for the signings of Oscar Fraulo, Derry Murkin and Sammie Szmodics - the latter will not be allowed to face his parent club today.

"We wouldn't have just spent money in the January window on something that is just going to tick us over," chief executive Stephen Pearce told BBC Radio Derby.

"It was either going to be something for the long term, or something for the here and now that could be a perceived game-changer in that position. Sammie is the here and now."

With John Eustace's side up to seventh place, two points short of the play-offs, they may be more than the long-term project the head coach has referenced a few times.

Ipswich's visit is a good test of their progress with the Suffolk side in the shake-up for an immediate return to the Premier League, albeit now seven points off the top-two pace.

A failed bid for Millwall's Femi Azeez and the lack of another striker to bolster their frontline maybe leaves Kieran McKenna slightly dissatisfied with their transfer business.

Trips to Derby, Wrexham and Watford in their next three league games will need to be navigated to keep them in the hunt.

Coventry City can steal a march on Middlesbrough by restoring their three-point lead at the top of the Championship with a win over Oxford United while Boro do not play until Monday evening.

Hull City will hope to close the gap on second place by beating Bristol City while the lunchtime game between Derby County and Ipswich Town will have a real effect on the top six.

Norwich City's match at home to Blackburn Rovers will have a big say at the bottom and Leicester City's six-point deduction means a failure to beat Birmingham City could drop them into the relegation zone.

    Kick-offs delayed a minute

All EFL games are kicking off one minute late this weekend to raise awareness for the Every Minute Matters campaign.

EFL sponsor Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) have been working together since May 2024 to highlight the importance of speed when it comes to performing life-saving CPR.

Later kick-off times will serve as "a stark reminder that every minute matters", the EFL said.

Bristol Rovers defender Tom Lockyer collapsed while playing for Luton Town eight minutes into the Championship play-off final against Coventry in May 2023.

Lockyer then suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch seven months later during a Premier League game at Bournemouth.

"What happened to me can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time," said Lockyer, who is now a BHF ambassador.

"Every year, more than 40,000 people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and most of them never make it home.

"I'm here today because of the transformative power of CPR as every minute matters when it comes to saving a life.

"This February, we want everyone to get behind this life-saving initiative, learn the skills and be ready to step in because your actions could give someone else the chance I was given."

Throughout February, the Every Minute Matters campaign is calling on fans to learn CPR using the BHF's online RevivR, external, external tool.

The weekend's Championship action got under way last night with an entertaining London derby between Charlton Athletic and QPR even if it did end up 0-0 at full-time.

The Addicks likely came away the more disappointed of the two sides to have not taken all three points with QPR keeper Joe Walsh making a string of saves to keep them in the game, including denying Conor Coady and Lyndon Dykes either side of the break.

The draw means QPR stretch their winless run away from home to seven games while the point allows Charlton to creep away a little bit more from the bottom three.
