    BBC Sport at St Mary's

Flynn Downes really tried to carry on but he never looked completely comfortable out there following that nasty collision.

This is a great opportunity for Shea Charles to get some minutes - someone who has not played much since a lengthy spell out with injury.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:11 GMT 7 February

    Southampton 0-0 Watford

Watford come racing forward in numbers and with pace but Giorgi Chakvetadze's shot misses the target and goes high and wide.

With the pause in play for the goal kick Southampton boss Tonda Eckert takes the moment to replace Flynn Downes, who cannot continue after all. Shea Charles comes on in his place.

A tough run of away fixtures for Ipswich. Get through these next four still within touching distance and hopefully our quality will show through for the run in. Our back to back promotions were achieved with our best form coming at the end of each season.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:05 GMT 7 February

    Another caution.

Ipswich's Anis Mehmeti leaves something on Lewis Travis after the ball has gone and Josh Smith does the necessary.

  6. Heavy collision between Downes and Abankwahpublished at 13:03 GMT 7 February

    Southampton 0-0 Watford

    Dan George
    BBC Sport at St Mary's

That was a really heavy collision between Flynn Downes and James Abankwah.

Both men came together in a bit of a 50-50 but the Southampton man came off worse and was down for quite a long time.

That's one of those challenges that makes you wince when it happens and you hope both men come away from it okay, thankfully Downes is coming back on after receiving some treatment and looks okay to continue.

He's not moving freely but it looks like he will try to run this one off.

Blackburn have to get closer in the box, there was no midfield backing the striker when they get forward.

When they do get forward, there are massive gaps being left which Norwich are yet to exploit.

We are defending well but we're only attacking with two players.

First real effort of note for the home side as Sean McLoughlin gets a block on Jose Cordoba's shot.

    Derby 0-1 Ipswich

Derby debutant Derry Murkin bends in a dangerous corner which Ipswich struggle to clear.

The home side then have an opportunity with a long throw and up come the big men.

Joe Ward chucks it in but Matt Clarke's flick finds no-one in a white shirt.

Derby thrive on restarts and are pinning Ipswich back.

  12. Postpublished at 13:00 GMT 7 February

    Southampton 0-0 Watford

Southampton could be in trouble here as Flynn Downes has gone down after a heavy clash with James Abankwah in the centre circle.

The play goes on for a few minutes and Othmane Maamma even ends up having a shot - much to the booing Saints' fans unhappiness.

Downes is still getting treatment on his leg and looks to be in some discomfort as we have a few minutes break in play.

Very open so far with some nice build-up play from both sides to get into each box despite that end product not being there yet.

Feels like we have goals coming in this one.

  14. 'The crowd are reacting to the change in tempo'published at 12:55 GMT 7 February

    Derby 0-1 Ipswich

    Ed Dawes
    BBC Radio Derby commentator

A little ball through was all it needed, Ipswich players were leaving it to each other.

It's confident play there was just too much on it.

The crowd are reacting to the change in tempo.

    Derby 0-1 Ipswich

Ooh a first chance for Derby.

There is space down the right for Ben Brereton but his cross just evades Patrick Agyemang as he tries a little Cruyff flick.

Better from the home side, at last...

Quarter of the way through this match and we've not had a shot on target from either side yet.

  17. Postpublished at 12:52 GMT 7 February

    Derby 0-1 Ipswich

Ivan Azon has space down the left and gets his cross in for Ipswich but it's just behind his fellow forwards.

Derby just punt the ball up the field to boos from the home supporters.

They are well and truly on the rack.

  18. CLOSE!published at 12:50 GMT 7 February

    Southampton 0-0 Watford

First corner for Watford and they come within a whisker of opening the scoring.

Marc Bola gets on the end as it flies in, nodding the ball down towards the post and Mamadou Doumbia somehow pokes the ball wide from a few yards out.

At the other end Saints then have their own effort as Flynn Downes loses his man down the wing and picks out Ross Steward in the centre of the box, but while his shot is on target Egil Selvik dives down to comfortably keep it out.

I would hate to jinx it but without Ismael at the helm a win even against a flying Norwich could be on the cards - even so we better get the next appointment right and soon.
