    FT: Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

More from Brighton attacking midfielder Fran Kirby on the team's FA Cup ambitions: "We are going to do everything we can to get there [to an FA Cup final]. For us to get to a semi-final now, with this team and group of people, the hunger and belief is only growing. We are going to do absolutely everything we can to get there.

"I tell the girls all the time that FA Cup finals are the best days. From the moment you wake up to the moment it is done, it is one of the best days that you could ever have.

"This result is going to be massive for us because we know that we can win against a team like Arsenal. It is really important to go into a semi-final with all the confidence."

On her message to boss Dario Vidosic: "It was a really tough time for him when he lost his dad, and it was his birthday yesterday so happy birthday Rado! I really hope that you're proud of us with everything that we've achieved today. We wanted to get to a semi-final for your son and for your whole family. Dario is an incredible man, and so was his dad."

  2. 'Everyone managed the conditions really well'published at 15:27 BST 5 April

    FT: Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton attacking midfielder Fran Kirby speaking to TNT Sports: "It is so special. It is something that we spoke about. We knew we could come here and get a result, but to do it against a team like Arsenal, who have quality all over, is really special. I'm so proud of all of the team.

"Our fans are amazing. They follow us everywhere, up and down the country. We hear them everywhere and they make it a really special club to be a part of.

"We knew Arsenal exerted a lot of energy in their Champions League match midweek and they had a really good performance against Chelsea, so we knew they were going to make some changes which could maybe disrupt their flow a little bit, but we still had to come out and put on a performance.

"We are just happy we were able to get the job done and give the travelling fans something to sing about."

On the playing conditions: "We spoke about it before the game because when we were out for the warm-ups we did see the pitch was a bit bobbly in patches. We knew not to take any risks or do anything silly in the opening stages, instead we wanted to try to turn Arsenal a little bit and get them running back towards their own goal.

"I think everyone managed the conditions really well, particularly with the way we usually like to play as well."

  3. 'We want to be a team that keeps breaking records'published at 15:25 BST 5 April

    FT: Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton goalscorer Madison Haley speaking to TNT Sports: "We are absolutely buzzing. What an amazing day for us. We have been thinking about this day for a long time so we put our full focus into getting to the semi-finals. It was an amazing team performance today. We are really happy to get a clean sheet and beat an amazing team.

"We were fully focused on our game plan. Everyone, whether they started the match or came on, executed the game plan well today. Arsenal are a great team so we had to dig in at times, but we also got to show our quality and the fact we are able to compete against a team like Arsenal."

On her goal: "Fran [Kirby] set me a bit wide and all I was thinking about was leathering it. Luckily it went into the top of the net!

"Everyone knows her quality and she shows it every time she steps out on the pitch, whether that's in training or in matches. She is a hugely important player for and we are really lucky to have her."

On daring to dream about Wembley: "We have definitely talked about it. We want to be there and we want to be a team that keeps breaking records. This is a nice stepping stone for us because it shows we can compete against the best teams in the world."

Another shock on the cards? Charlton are doing a great job so far in trying to make that happen.

Let's get some of the reaction from today's earlier FA Cup upset...

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:19 BST 5 April

    Charlton 0-0 Liverpool

    There's the whistle.

Karen Hills will be delighted that her side have hung in there and are going into the break on level terms with WSL side Liverpool.

  6. Postpublished at 15:18 BST 5 April

    Charlton 0-0 Liverpool

Oh my word. How have Liverpool not scored?

Aurélie Csillag was better placed in the six-yard box to put away an easy tap in, but Denise O'Sullivan races in front of her and skews it over the bar from close range.

By the starting line up, I think Arsenal severely underestimated Brighton today and to their own peril! This is why we love the FA cup… when the underdogs win.

    Charlton 0-0 Liverpool

Charlton have been stuck in their own half for quite a while now. Liverpool are ticking along nicely but that won't count for anything unless they can score.

Mia Enderby has another strike blocked.

There's great scenes in front of the away end as the Brighton players and staff celebrate a moment of history in front of their travelling fans.

After reaching the final four in 2021 and 2023, they're into another semi-final.

Now the aim will be to go one step further this time round.

    So there we have it.

More disappointment in the FA Cup for Arsenal as the record winners' drought stretches to a full decade without touching the trophy.

They had just three shots on target and created 1.68 xG across the 90 minutes on a very frustrating afternoon.

    Charlton 0-0 Liverpool

Some really nice build-up play by Liverpool, but Charlton aren't letting up. They're giving the visitors no time on the ball and there's no way through for Gareth Taylor's side.

It's almost like both Arsenal women and Arsenal men have got their eyes on bigger things. I know it's not really true, but I'm just searching for reasons as to why both teams have been so poor in their FA Cup quarter-finals. Is it complacency, arrogance, nerves? It's just so disappointing.

Denise O'Sullivan has to do better with that effort. She's completely unmarked as she rises to meet the header, but she nods it well over the bar.

  14. 'Brighton really deserved that'published at 15:01 BST 5 April

    FT: Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brighton just chucked everything at this match all afternoon. Their defensive performance was absolutely outstanding.

Arsenal were really poor. They didn't create anything at all. There didn't seem to be any real urgency either from 2-0 down, it didn't look like they had that belief to come back into the game.

    Brighton really deserved that.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:59 BST 5 April

    Charlton 0-0 Liverpool

Now that would have been unfortunate.

Alice Bergstrom dinks in a cross and Lucia Lobato heads it clear - or at least she thinks she has! The ball floats all the way to the back post and bounces off the crossbar.

A big sigh of relief there for the Charlton defender.

    Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

    It's all over!

Brighton dump 14-time winners Arsenal out at the quarter-final stage, with early second half goals from Madison Haley and Caitlin Hayes just rewards for a superb performance.

They book a spot in the semi-finals for just the third time in their history.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 14:57 BST 5 April

    Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

Late, late drama as Alessia Russo is down in significant pain after being caught by Maelys Mpome when chasing a loose ball in the box.

Don't think there was any intent in there from the Brighton defender, but she did catch Russo on the Achilles.

    Nothing given though.

  18. Postpublished at 14:56 BST 5 April

    Arsenal 0-2 Brighton

While the focus will undoubtedly be on 14-time winners Arsenal being eliminated, we mustn't overlook what a brilliant away performance this has been from Brighton.

Solid and tight defensively, limiting the hosts to just two efforts on target, and clinical when it mattered in the final third.
