Ipswich need a win at Charlton tonight to move back into second spot as they start a run of three away games in six days.

The Addicks know a point will secure their status.

Middlesbrough need a win over already doomed Sheffield Wednesday to stay in contention for automatic promotion while a win for Blackburn at Sheffield United would see Rovers safe and potentially relegate Oxford United.

It has been a slow and lingering end for Port Vale and their League One status.

Having looked pretty much doomed since the turn of the year, their run to the FA Cup quarter-finals prolonged their survival battle with a number of games in hand but anything other than a win in Wales tonight will confirm relegation

Boss Jon Brady has done his best to restore some pride with seven wins from his 22 league matches in charge but it has always been a case of when and not if they will be making an immediate return to League Two.

That could well be tonight - Cardiff may already be promoted but with no chance of now claiming the title and they will want to extend a five-match unbeaten run.

We will bring you goal updates from Cardiff City Stadium.

Last night brought triumph and misery to the second tier.

Coventry City celebrated as they lifted the Championship trophy while Leicester, who were polishing Premier League silverware a decade ago, succumbed to relegation into League One.

Tonight, Ipswich could be the jubilant ones with a definitive play-off place up for grabs.

Oxford, however, could shortly be following in the Foxes' footsteps if Blackburn and Charlton get the right results.

Though it's not just the Championship that will have an impact. We will also be bringing you updates of League One's Port Vale as they look to stave off relegation heartache against Cardiff.

Strap in, folks. It's time for another big night in the EFL.

    Build up coming your way.
