Arsenal in control, but lacking that spontaneity in front of goal. What I would give for a prime Henry or Alexis Sanchez in this team.

Arsenal are just starting to get a foothold in the game and no surprise that Declan Rice has been central to that.

The England midfielder has had more touches than anyone else on the pitch so far.

Michael Olise is certainly causing a lot of problems down that right-hand side and he wins a corner.

The delivery is poor, though, and Andrii Lunin gathers with ease.

    Sporting 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal needed that spell where they had two really good chances because Sporting had been firmly on top before then.

The Gunners faced four shots in the first 10 minutes - the most they have faced at that stage of a match in all competitions this season.

The problem for Alvaro Carreras is that he has Vinicius Jr in front him and he's not going to get back. So he needs Arda Guler to help out because Michael Olise has just walked through every time.

Arsenal seem to be growing into the game better. Cracking corner from Noni.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have made a strong start, but they are struggling to get Harry Kane involved.

The England striker, only just back from injury, has had just three touches of the ball in the opening 20 minutes, the fewest of any player on the pitch.

This has been superb - and hardly a case of defences being on top. After Bayern's lightning fast start, Manuel Neuer has now had to save twice from Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

    Electric stuff.

The goalkeeper missed it completely. Sporting got lucky after it came down.

The delivery in has been really good. Arsenal look a real threat.

    A fascinating opening 15 minutes.

Real Madrid are starting to get a foothold in the game but Vincent Kompany will be delighted with the start from Bayern.

Arda Guler shifts across for Vinicius Jr and he strikes with power and pace towards the bottom far corner but Manuel Neuer makes a brilliant save to deny the Brazilian.

    End to end stuff now.

Two big chances for Arsenal in quick succession as first Noni Madueke's corner curls so much it strikes the crossbar, before Martin Odegaard drives the loose ball wide.

Noni Madueke is taken down on the right side of the box by Maxi Araújo and Arsenal have a free-kick in a decent position.

Martin Odegaard whips the ball into the danger zone for Viktor Gyokeres but Ousmane Diomande gets in the way of the Arsenal forward to deflect the ball behind for a corner.

A lovely ball from Trent Alexander Arnold from the free-kick but no one meets the curling delivery.

Then Manuel Neuer denies Kylian Mbappe after the Frenchman is played through.

As much as Bayern have started well you just know Real need only one or two of those chances and they will more often than not take them.
