    Cardiff 0-1 Stevenage

Yousef Salech has the chance of an immediate reply for the hosts but can only head wide from Chris Willock's cross.

Brian Barry-Murphy has seen enough. He's taken Perry Ng and Isaak Davies off and brought Ronan Kpakio and Omari Kellyman on - attacking changes.

What a goal that was, that is certainly a contender for goal of the month.

The keeper was nowhere near it - beautiful stuff from Phoenix Patterson.

The Stevenage fans are in full voice now.

    Bolton 0-1 Mansfield

    Mansfield continue to frustrate Bolton.

Max Conway goes through one visiting goalkeeper Liam Roberts, but can't find a way through.

  4. 'Smash and grab on the cards'published at 21:04 GMT 29 December 2025

    Cardiff 0-1 Stevenage

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Stevenage could pull off one of the great 'smash and grab' wins at Cardiff.

Seemingly no interest in trying to win, sitting back, frustrating Cardiff effectively with less than 30% possession and then scoring an excellent goal against the run of play through Phoenix Patterson.

    Now then...

This is some finish from Phoenix Patterson, cutting inside and lashing past Nathan Trott with his right peg after a good run from Beryly Lubala and silencing the home fans.

It was just Boro's second effort of the night on target. Real smash and grab vibes.

The Bluebirds are now top on goal difference alone.

  6. CLOSE!published at 21:00 GMT 29 December 2025

    Barnsley 0-1 Lincoln

The hosts have begun the second half brightly and sub Adam Phillips has lashed into the side-netting from an angle while Josh Earl has headed narrowly wide from Luca Connell's free-kick.

  7. Postpublished at 20:59 GMT 29 December 2025

    MK 0-1 Notts County

A triple change for the hosts at the break.

And it nearly brings immediate dividends as Callum Paterson shows great strength to force his way into the box.

But his shot flies just wide.

    Early warning for Notts.

  8. 'A very stretched game'published at 20:57 GMT 29 December 2025

    Barnsley 0-1 Lincoln

    Michael Hortin
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire commentator

This feels very similar to the last time out when Lincoln played Stockport.

There was an uptick in Stockport's performance that day in the second half, and there is certainly an uptick in Barnsley's performance here.

It is a very stretched game at the moment.

    Cardiff 0-0 Stevenage

Just like the first half, Stevenage are the first to show after the turnaround and Harvey White finds Dan Kemp who spins and drives towards goal before seeing a powerful strike charged down.

Got your breath back? No, us neither. Not even close. But we go again...

There's around half-an-hour left in the early game as Newport lead Crewe 1-0, looking to get off the bottom of the EFL tonight, while our 7.45pm starts are getting under way in dribs and drabs from now... though Plymouth overran by nine minutes in the first half so they'll still be tucking into their orange slices.

    • It's good news for Bromley, who took the lead at Crawley through Michael Cheek but Charlie Barker has made it 1-1 at the break.
    • No way through for Swindon so far as they head into half-time 0-0 at Cheltenham.
    • Chesterfield, after three wins on the spin, are 1-0 down to Cambridge at the break, Shane McGloughlin with the goal for United.
    • Lowly Barrow are in dreamland at Tranmere as they lead 3-0 through Ben Jackson, Charlie Raglan and Isaac Fletcher.
    • Newport lead Crewe 1-0 at Rodney Parade in the night's early kick-off thanks to Courtney Baker-Richardson.
    • It takes County off the foot of the table as things stand, with Harrogate 1-0 down at Accrington.

Luton storming into a 3 goal lead before half time!

    Stevo, Luton

Another false dawn for Luton or is this time different?

    Anon, Luton

The Hatters were pretty irresistible as they thumped Wycombe 4-0 three days ago, and they are well on course for a repeat performance tonight...

  13. Half-time updates from League Onepublished at 20:41 GMT 29 December 2025

Joe Low has headed Huddersfield in front right on the stroke of half-time against Northampton.

Exeter lead Wimbledon 1-0 thanks to Jayden Wareham's 10th goal of the season, while Shayden Morris has put Luton three goals to the good against Leyton Orient.

Blackpool are still 2-0 up on Rotherham, Reading lead 1-0 at Peterborough, and Stockport are drawing 1-1 with Doncaster.

Third-place Bradford are being held by managerless Port Vale, while it's also goalless in the game between Burton and Wigan.

    HT: Cardiff 0-0 Stevenage

    Dean Thompson
    BBC Three Counties Radio commentator

That feels like it is half the job done, without being too threatening, they have done very well in the midfield and dealt with the threat down the flanks.

I think the gaffer will be pleased with that first-half performance.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 GMT 29 December 2025

    Plymouth 0-1 Wycombe

Dan Casey's early header from Jack Grimmer's excellent deep cross is the difference at the break at Home Park.

They have fashioned some half-chances but plenty of work for Argyle to do if they are to avoid a second home defeat in three days.

    Bolton 0-1 Mansfield

That Rhys Oates goal on 43 minutes is the difference between the sides at half-time.

Bolton will be scratching their heads as to how they are behind, having had the majority of both possession and chances.

  18. Postpublished at 20:36 GMT 29 December 2025

Another sight of goal for the Pilgrims in added time but Brendan Wiredu gets his far post header slightly wrong, sending it back across goal but beyond the far post.

  19. Postpublished at 20:35 GMT 29 December 2025

    Plymouth 0-1 Wycombe

Deep into eight added minutes at the end of the first half Lorent Tolaj has teed-up sub Bim Pepple but his long-range effort loops over Will Norris's crossbar.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 GMT 29 December 2025

    Cardiff 0-0 Stevenage

No breakthrough for Cardiff, despite bossing most of the game.

The closest either side have come was actually Harvey White's looping free-kick for Boro inside three minutes which beat Nathan Trott but came back off the underside of the crossbar.

Boro are defending like lions but can the Bluebirds find the key to unlock their defence in the second half?
