  5. Champions League draw to take place on Friday morningpublished at 19:57 GMT 25 February

Sixteen teams will discover their opponents in the Champions League knockout draw on Friday at 11:00 GMT.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur were already in the hat, with Newcastle joining them in the last 16 after a 9-3 aggregate win over Qarabag in the play-off round.

The eight winners of the two-legged knockout phase play-offs join the top eight sides from the league-phase table in the draw.

Friday's draw will also allocate a side of the bracket for all teams, meaning they will know who they could potentially meet in the quarter-final, semi-final and final.

Last-16 first legs will take place on either 10 or 11 March, with the reverse fixture scheduled for 17-18 March.

The Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary will host the 2025-26 final on 30 May.

Monaco boss Sebastien Pocognoli spoke about what is at stake as his side look to beat PSG and advance to the last 16 stages of the Champions League: “We’ll have to play our game taking all the factors into account, even if we shouldn’t overthink it," he said.

"We’ll be facing a very good team, so we’ll have to deal with that, being ambitious but also thoughtful in our approach to the match.

"Our success rate also depends on the opponent we face, and we’ll certainly be up against the best French team, so we’ll have to adapt to the opponent’s strengths and not compromise our own style."

    Stephen Warnock

Atalanta had to come out and do something tonight, being 2-0 down from last week. So they have attacked it, and got their reward.

But then Dortmund boss Niko Kovak has made changes, he has been brave - even though he has gone three goals down tonight, he knew they only had to nick a goal to get back in the tie.

It was a game full of mistakes - including the one that led to the late penalty that settled it.

That was never a penalty for Atalanta; never a high kick. It was barely above waist height from the defender with the Atalanta player stooping down to check for daisies. Excellent penalty kick though.

  9. When Juventus almost fought back from three goals downpublished at 19:48 GMT 25 February

The only previous time Juventus lost the first leg of a European tie by three or more goals was in the 2017-18 quarter finals against Real Madrid.

And on that occasion they came close to a remarkable comeback in the Bernabeu and led 3-0 after an hour to level the tie up on aggregate.

However, goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was sent off in the aftermath of Real being awarded a controversial 90th minute penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo then converted from the spot as the Spanish side went through.

Luciano Spalletti, will hope for a lot more fortune for his side this evening and will be acutely aware that Galatasaray are no great shakes on their travels.

The Turkish giants have lost 46 of their 65 away games in the competition - which is the second highest loss rate of any side with at least 50 games on the road (71%, behind Olympiakos).

Galatasaray will take a three-goal lead to Turin after coming from behind to beat Juventus in a frenetic first leg of their Champions League knockout phase play-off tie.

The hosts trailed 2-1 at half-time but produced a superb fightback to lead 3-2 by the hour mark through goals from Noa Lang and Davinson Sanchez.

That came after Juventus had launched an excellent response of their own to complete a 17-minute first-half turnaround, through Teun Koopmeiners' double, after going behind to Gabriel Sara's opener.

However, the second half went from bad to worse for the Serie A side. Half-time substitute Juan Cabal received a second yellow card just 21 minutes after his introduction to leave Juventus a goal and a man down.

The Turkish champions were relentless in attempting to make their man advantage count. Lang punished lax Juventus defending for his second on the night, before Sacha Boey added a late fifth to put Okan Buruk's side in firm control of the tie.

PSG boss Luis Enrique was bullish in his pre-match comments on the second leg against Monaco: "It'll be tricky because Monaco will be starting the game a goal down and have nothing to lose," he said.

"So we need to know that there'll be tough moments and the best way of handling those is to play as we normally do – to try to hold onto the ball and to press in the same way when we don't have the ball.

"We're out not to defend a result but to win a game."

Substitute Desire Doue inspired holders Paris St-Germain to an impressive comeback against 10-man Monaco in the first leg of their Champions League knockout phase play-off tie.

The hosts took the lead inside the first minute when Folarin Balogun connected with Aleksandr Golovin's cross to head home from close range. Monaco deepened PSG's problems in the 18th minute as Balogun raced through on goal and slotted past Matvey Safonov for his 10th goal of the season.

PSG were offered a lifeline from the penalty spot four minutes later when Wout Faes bundled Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to the ground inside the area. But Vitinha was denied as Phillip Kohn sprang down to his right to save the midfielder's effort.

PSG pulled one back in the 29th minute as Doue, introduced two minutes earlier for Ballon d'Or winner Dembele, drilled his shot in off the post from an acute angle. The Frenchman had a hand in the equaliser four minutes before the break as his effort from outside the area was palmed into the path of Hakimi, who finished with a half-volley.

Monaco's Golovin was sent off for the second time in four days seconds after the break for a reckless challenge on Vitinha. The Russian forward was originally shown a yellow card, but that was upgraded after the referee reviewed the challenge on the pitchside monitor.

The visitors took advantage of the extra man and completed the turnaround in the 67th minute when Warren Zaire-Emery teed up Doue to strike past Kohn.
