Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

FOUR added minutes at Meadow Lane.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:45 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

Charlie Vernam accepts a yellow card after swiping out Kallum Cesay to stop Salford's counter-attack.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:43 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

Now a Grimsby free-kick for what could be their first real chance in what feels like an age.

There's some tangled legs in the box to see half-hearted appeals for a penalty but instead the Mariners can't keep possession to see Salford flying up on the counter.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:43 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

Ryan Stirk's day is done. His awkward fall after the knee-high challenge from Ollie Norburn looks to have injured his arm or shoulder.

John Fleck is on for him four minutes before half-time.

  5. Postpublished at 20:41 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

County's Jodi Jones hits the deck after a shove from Sammy Braybrooke after the ball had gone.

Not much in it, but Jones is furious and ref Thomas Parsons calls them together to make peace.

Ryan Stirk is getting some treatment for the visitors so we'll have a break in play. It's another clash with Ollie Norburn that's done it.

Norburn is lucky there, that's a high challenge. Parsons hasn't seen it, and no VAR in the EFL.

Had there been he might have been off.

  6. Postpublished at 20:41 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

Luke Garbutt's curling direct free-kick look lovely in the air but it's no problem at all for Grimsby stopper Jackson Smith.

  7. 'Grimsby not given a sniff'published at 20:40 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 2-1)

    Matt Dean
    BBC Radio Humberside

Grimsby have not been given a sniff this evening. Matt Young's not had a save to make yet.

Another goal and it's curtains for the Mariners you'd suspect.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 20:38 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

Grimsby boss David Artell is the first to draw from the bench.

On comes first leg starters Jaze Kabia and Justin Amaluzor.

Amaluzor said he wanted to right some wrongs from their trip to Salford last time out. He's got a lot of work to do...

  9. Postpublished at 20:38 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

Alassana Jatta rolls his hands in the furious and universal symbol for 'hurry it up' after he's caught a couple of yards offside after blazing into green space in the Chesterfield half.

Half a second earlier with the pass and he was through, but the slight delay saw the flag go up.

  10. HITS THE POSTpublished at 20:36 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

    SO CLOSE!

A Salford corner delivery finds Adebola Oluwo lurking at the back post, rising high and heads towards goal.

But it smacks off the post. That would have definitely been game over had it gone in.

  11. 'Too easy for Chesterfield to open Notts up'published at 20:35 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

    Mark Stallard
Ex-Notts County striker on BBC Radio Nottingham

It was far too easy for Chesterfield to open Notts up there.

    Thankfully James Berry slices it.

Notts have got to be careful of not sitting deeper, deeper and deeper.

  12. Postpublished at 20:33 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 3-1)

This game has got a little needle to it now the goal has gone in.

Salford's Kallum Cesay and Grimsby's Reece Staunton join together in some mutual pushing and shoving and are quickly separated to cool off.

The visitors in particular must be feeling frustrated.

Once again they've had more than their fair share of possession but find themselves lacking up top.

    An hour gone.

  13. Postpublished at 20:33 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

More lovely approach play from the visitors on the edge of the County area but James Berry's low shot after a neat back-heel is deflected behind, and County clear their lines from the corner.

  14. Postpublished at 20:32 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

Brilliant break from the visitors as Leicester loanee Sammy Braybrooke plays a one-two in midfield and drives forward before laying it right.

The deep cross is perfect for James Berry to strike on the volley but he gets his connection wrong 15 yards out and can't keep it on target, to jeers from the Pies fans.

  15. Postpublished at 20:29 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

County full-back Lucas Ness produces the most blatant of shirt pulls to haul James Berry back on the left and it's a dangerous free-kick.

Berry swings it in but keeper James Belshaw is able to claim.

  16. 'What a finish from Udoh'published at 20:29 BST 15 May

    Salford 1-0 Grimsby (agg 2-1)

    Liam Hogan
Former Salford defender on BBC Radio Manchester

When it's a vertical one, it's so difficult to do.

What a finish that is from Daniel Udoh.

Grimbsy need to find two goals but I just don't see it with this Salford team keeping them at arm's length.

It's a really important period now as Grimsby will be looking for a goal.

  17. Postpublished at 20:28 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

    This is very physical. Very.

Thomas Parsons has let an awful lot go in an attempt to let the game flow but Tom Iorpenda absolutely bundles Ryan Stirk over from behind on the County right and that's a sure-fire free-kick, not that the County man agrees, of course.

  18. Postpublished at 20:26 BST 15 May

    Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield

    Andrew Aloia
BBC Sport, East Midlands at Meadow Lane

There were roars of expectations as the ball rattled around the six-yard box like a pinball.

In the end, all that Magpies fans had left in them were groans of disappointment as another opportunity went begging. It really did look like it opened up enough for Luker to bury that chance.

  19. goal

    GOAL: Salford 1-0 Grimsby (3-1 agg)published at 20:26 BST 15 May

    Daniel Udoh (53 mins)

Just as I was pointing out the lack of goal action...

The ball arches high in the air following a corner, primed for Daniel Udoh to volley it into the net unopposed.

Good execution to deliver a big blow for Grimsby, who now need to find two goals just to take it to extra time.

  20. Postpublished at 20:26 BST 15 May

Notts County 0-0 Chesterfield (agg 1-0)

Vital last-ditch header from Kyle McFadzean which prevents Alassana Jatta clear run on the Chesterfield goal about 30 yards out.

That's an intriguing physical battle to watch.
