  1. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-0 Charltonpublished at 16:24 BST 4 October 2025

    Thierry Small (67 mins)

It's been coming... and it just had to be him.

Former Addicks winger Thierry Small is found by Lewis Dobbin near the edge of the box and unleashes a powerful low drive which loops up off defender Kayne Ramsay and beyond Thomas Kaminski to break the deadlock.

He's been booed all afternoon by the travelling fans, but the 21-year-old shows them some respect by... only joking, he celebrates like a mad man.

    Big goal, that.

    Derby 1-1 Southampton

Derby trying to complete the turnaround as Carlton Morris does well to hold up play before laying into the path of Patrick Agyemang who can only fire into the side-netting from an acute angle.

Adam Armstrong fired off target at the other end while the tackles have begun to fly in while the home fans get worked up too.

    Big finish incoming.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:19 BST 4 October 2025

    Swansea 0-1 Leicester City

Not sure how much Jakub Stolarczyk knew about that but he throws up a hand and blocks a snap shot from Zan Vipotnnik.

Josk Key slots a lovely ball inside the full back which Ronald runs on to and squares.

Vipotnik meets it perfectly and the Leicester keeper blocks at his near post.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:18 BST 4 October 2025

    Preston 0-0 Charlton

Charlton keeper Thomas Kaminski to the rescue as he does brilliantly to keep out Ali McCann's header from Andrew Hughes' cross. He was unmarked six yards out but couldn't finish, and Kaminski managed to keep hold of the ball too.

The hosts have had the better of it of lately as they go in search of the opening goal, but a huge chance goes begging.

There's good signs for the Rams here.

Carlton Morris is like a battering ram in the middle, if he's playing that deep you need him on the ball and that's what they're doing.

'Come on Derby' is the cry.

    Bristol City 1-0 QPR

A chance on the left side of the penalty area as Richard Kone sprints through on goal is snuffed out by Robert Atkinson.

That was a challenge that could definitely be filed under 'robust' from Atkinson.

Kone takes some time to recover from that getting gingerly to his feet but there was no foul.

Lions have breathing space... and what a hit.

Femi Azeez takes down a long ball from Billy Mitchell on the right, cuts inside and unleashes a worldy with his left foot, curling powerfully past Josh Griffiths and into the far top corner.

A goal worthy of winning any game... and it might just have won this one.

  11. CLOSE!published at 16:15 BST 4 October 2025

Albion are awarded a corner as Lions keeper Steve Benda holds onto the ball for too long.

  15. 'A better start'published at 16:11 BST 4 October 2025

    Portsmouth 1-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

Portsmouth are just sitting deep and allowing us the possession.

Hansen is looking sharp, if they get get him the ball in behind the midfield then he will take 'Boro forward.

Conway is making runs into the channel and wants the ball played a bit more, it's definitely a better start in this half, though.

A blessed goal for Leicester, but we've now had our allotted one shot on target for the game, and Swansea look the most dangerous opposition we've faced, recently, so it's still a very open game. Carranza on for Daka in the second half please!

Southampton's 35-year-old keeper Alex McCarthy has been the busiest man out there.

It was a deserved equaliser for Derby and their American international Patrick Agyemang.

Mild autumn sunshine here, but Agyemang is wearing a long sleeve base layer and gloves, the toastie vibe clearly working for him!

You got to feel for Saints' Ross Stewart, who injured himself with a header which drew an excellent, full stretch save from Jacob Zetterstrom. He has had terrible luck with injuries.

The Scot, who scored two in Tuesday’s win at Sheffield United, was able to walk off the pitch, but went straight down the tunnel.
