    Bristol City 1-0 QPR

Bristol City are starting to purr and that was a lovely move through Mark Sykes who plays Scott Twine in towards the right byline inside the area.

With red shirts queuing up at the back stick his low cross is a little too close to Paul Nardi who dives low and deflects the ball to safety.

Good work from the keeper but the Rs are being pinned back now.

  2. Postpublished at 15:39 BST 4 October 2025

    Millwall 1-0 West Brom

West Brom have gradually found their feet after a pretty dismal start at The Den, but Callum Styles has seen a low cross from the left flash across the goalmouth without a touch from either side.

  3. Postpublished at 15:37 BST 4 October 2025

    Preston 0-0 Charlton

Another half chance, at best, for the hosts as Ben Whiteman rises highest at the back post to meet a deep cross but can only send his header off target.

  4. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-0 QPRpublished at 15:34 BST 4 October 2025

    Emil Riis (32 mins)

Simple headed finish from Emil Riis but the beauty of that was all in the assist from Neto Borges.

That was an overhit cross from the right which Borges has hooked back on the volley from the byline.

It is perfectly flighted and Riis has the easiest task to redirect if back where it came past Paul Nardi.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:34 BST 4 October 2025

    Watford 0-1 Oxford

This has been a far from ideal start for Watford as they are forced into an early change.

Vivaldo Semedo comes off for Luca Kjerrumgaard.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:32 BST 4 October 2025

    Bristol City 0-0 QPR

Mark Sykes is given a caution for a foul on Esquerdinha.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:31 BST 4 October 2025

    Derby 0-1 Southampton

Ross Stewart is looking for a third away goal in four days but has seen a header saved by Jacob Widell Zetterstrom diving to his left to push the ball away.

Stewart has also picked up a booking for a late challenge and is also receiving some treatment for a knock.

It's not looking good. He's coming off, to be replaced by Tom Fellows after just half an hour.

  8. CLOSE!published at 15:30 BST 4 October 2025

    Preston 0-0 Charlton

Not much in the way of goalmouth action so far but Preston's Lewis Dobbin has just turned on a sixpence on the edge of the Addicks box and fired a shot past the angle of post and bar.

  9. Postpublished at 15:29 BST 4 October 2025

    Watford 0-1 Oxford

Watford have a great chance as Vivaldo Semedo shoots from close range but his effort is saved by U's keeper Jamie Cumming.

  10. 'The goal has given them confidence'published at 15:29 BST 4 October 2025

    Portsmouth 1-0 Middlesbrough

    Guy Whittingham
Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio Solent

It's important for Pompey to keep the ball as they're doing.

Middlesbrough will get impatient and the gaps will open up, it's good patient play at the moment.

The goal has given them confidence.

    Portsmouth lead!

Yang Min-hyeok continues his fine goalscoring form after netting against Watford in midweek.

Jordan Williams runs down the right to rescue a loose pass and crosses it into the box where Min-hyeok runs onto it and fires it into the net.

That is some strike from Jordan James, the Wales international who has now scored twice this week against Welsh opposition.

Wales head coach Craig Bellamy, who is in the Swansea.com Stadium's directors' box this afternoon, will be delighted to see James thriving with games against England and Belgium on the horizon.

James had already sent one effort over the bar before lashing a fabulous shot into the far corner of the Swansea net.

The goal was reward for a positive start from Leicester, with Swansea in need of improvement as they look to get back into this.

  14. 'It's been a good spell since going behind'published at 15:20 BST 4 October 2025

    Derby 0-1 Southampton

    Ed Dawes
    BBC Radio Derby commentator

I wonder if the Rams can make all this pressure count.

When you have the upper hand, it's so important to find the goal to go with it.

It's been a good spell since going behind.

  15. Postpublished at 15:20 BST 4 October 2025

    Portsmouth 0-0 Middlesbrough

A big chance for Portsmouth and Conor Chaplin to take the lead.

Yang Min-hyeok does well to find Chaplin in the box who looks like he is set to score but his effort is deflected narrowly wide of the post.

  16. goal

GOAL: Millwall 1-0 West Brompublished at 15:19 BST 4 October 2025

    Jake Cooper (18 mins)

    Now then...

Millwall have lost three of their four home games without scoring. This is just their second goal in five games at The Den.

Jake Cooper has put Millwall ahead, and it's not ahead, after Albion fail to properly clear a free-kick Cooper ghosts across his marker to meet the recycled cross into the box from Femi Azeez and side-foot powerfully past Josh Griffths to score his first league goal sine February - which was also against the Baggies.

Seven changes for Alex Neil today, and it seems to have worked...

  17. Postpublished at 15:18 BST 4 October 2025

    Preston 0-0 Charlton

Not an awful lot going on at Deepdale thus far, though North End winger Thierry Small is getting a bit of stick from the travelling Addicks fans, who were urging him on when he was at the club last season.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:16 BST 4 October 2025

    Derby 0-1 Southampton

Derby on the front foot again as Carlton Morris cuts inside and unleashes a curling shot but Alex McCarthy dives to palm away his effort.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Middlesbrough

It's a scrappy period of play at the moment.

Portsmouth haven't had much of the ball and it's not been a great start by them, we need to capitalise on it.

  20. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 4 October 2025

    Watford 0-1 Oxford

Watford look to get back on level terms through their dangerman from midweek against Portsmouth - Rocco Vata.

The midfielder has a go from 30 yards but U's stopper Jamie Cumming is equal to it.

He had a hand in both of Watford's goals which earned them a point at Fratton Park on Wednesday night.
