This is a game of patience for Doncaster Rovers at the moment.

Chesterfield have five sat in the defensive line and are doing what they have to.

Doncaster breach the 10 men of Chesterfield... or do they? Billy Sharp turns it home from close range but he's adjudged to have been offside and the goal won't stand.

Doncaster's James Maxwell has suffered a cut to the head and has been bandaged up. But Rovers then opt to make the sub anyway and Maxwell is replaced by Jack Senior at left-back.

Jordan Gibson also makes way for Tottenham Hotspur loanee Damola Ajayi.

Chesterfield launch a rare attack but it's halted prematurely by the referee, much to the anger of the home support.

There was a clear clash of heads between Doncaster duo James Maxwell and Jay McGrath and Maxwell is down requiring treatment.

The Chesterfield shape still looks good, despite being a man down.

They have not been out passed either, although I'm sure as time goes on, legs will tire.

I expect Doncaster to continue to carve out some chances, as they can allow themselves to overload the attacking areas.

It's pretty much all Doncaster now.

Rovers work it well to Jamie Sterry on the edge of the box but he drags it wide.

Zach Hemming is forced into another save in the Chesterfield goal as Jamie Sterry hits one from about 30 yards for Rovers. It's on target but Hemming can just about adjust himself to push it behind.

The resulting corner comes to nothing and a slight breather for the 10-men Spireites.

Chesterfield need Will Grigg to really be on fire tonight, as the famous chant goes.

This is a shame for Chesterfield's Dilan Markanday as he cannot continue and heads straight down the tunnel.

He's replaced by Ronan Darcy, while Lee Bonis also makes way for another legendary name in Will Grigg.

Doncaster also make another switch as George Broadbent is replaced by Ben Close.

This game is on an absolute knife edge at this point but with the extra man advantage, I fully expect Doncaster to make the most of it.

Dilan Markanday has been one of Chesterfield's brightest sparks this evening but he's just down getting some treatment now.

A brief pause in play.

Into the final 20 minutes we go. Doncaster are dominating possession now and Chesterfield are defending deep.

It invites a bit of pressure as Luke Molyneux skips inside and fires a low effort with his left foot. It bounces just in front of Chesterfield keeper Zach Hemming but he's able to make the save.

Now Chesterfield boss Paul Cook makes a change following the red card for John Fleck.

Dylan Duffy looked lively for the Spireites but they need to firm things up a little. He's replaced by defender Adam Lewis.

Chesterfield are perhaps unsurprisingly trying to stay very compact now. Will Doncaster be able to break down the 10 men?

Here comes Doncaster legend Billy Sharp. The 39-year-old striker replaces Brandon Hanlan.

Chesterfield boss Paul Cook is frantically shouting instructions onto the pitch now. That's completely changed the gameplan for the Spireites who will have to play at least another 27 minutes with 10 men.

That red card has thrown a right spanner in the works for Chesterfield.

A massive advantage now for Doncaster.

Wow. John Fleck has barely been on the pitch for five minutes but he's been given his marching orders.

It's a pretty poor challenge from the 34-year-old as he goes in high on Owen Bailey and referee Neil Hair deems it to be a straight red.

Dilan Markanday is always a danger when he goes forward for Chesterfield. He sends in another low cross but it's dealt with by Doncaster.

Hard to say which way this game is going to go. Opportunities for both so far in this second half.
