    Sutton 1-1 Shrewsbury

What a fantastic goal that was from Ismeal Kabia.

Sims could not get anywhere near that shot.

It was hit with power and conviction and Shrewsbury are back level.

  2. RED CARD FOR DAVID OGBONNA (SUTTON)published at 19:07 GMT 6 December 2025

This game has totally turned on it's head now! It's 10 v 10!

David Ogbonna, who was booked in the first half, stupidly delays a free-kick by standing in the way of the ball and the referee gives him a second yellow card.

Breathless FA Cup drama. We are deep into the nine minutes of additional time - I think there will be more than that now.

What a fabulous equaliser! Ten-man Shrewsbury are level!

Ismeal Kabia has threatened that goal all night and in the first of NINE minutes of additional time signalled, the Arsenal loanee cuts inside on his right foot and bends in a beauty into the top corner from 20 yards.

We are set for extra time at Gander Green Lane now!

  4. 'All or nothing for Shrewsbury'published at 19:03 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

It is all or nothing for Shrewsbury now. They have to throw caution to the wind and go man for man at the back.

The beauty of the FA Cup is that you have to go for it and go out on your shield.

  5. 'What a save from Sims'published at 19:01 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

What a save from Sims that was.

Ismeal Kabia's effort was bending into the top corner but it was well parried behind.

    A fantastic save.

  6. CLOSE!published at 19:01 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

Great save from Sutton's Jack Sims to keep the non-league side ahead!

Ismeal Kabia bends in a lovely effort towards the top corner but Sims tips the ball wide for a corner.

Breathless stuff at the moment in South London. Three minutes plus additional time left.

  7. CLOSE!published at 18:59 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

History almost repeats itself again when Lewis Simper's floated free-kick almost catches out Will Brook again but this time the Shrewsbury keeper claws it out from the top corner.

From the resulting corner, the ball eventually lands at the feet of Jayden Harris but he hooks his effort just wide.

It has been a terrific second half here.

  8. 'A miserable evening for Shrewsbury'published at 18:57 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Stuart Dunn
    Commentator on BBC Radio Shropshire

Shresbury are a goal down and now they are down to 10 men as well in what is proving to be a miserable evening for them.

  9. RED CARD FOR JOSH RUFFELS (SHREWSBURY TOWN)published at 18:53 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

Well, they are a goal down, and now they are a man down - Josh Ruffels has been sent off for a second bookable offence.

There has been so many bookings tonight you had a feeling that one side was going to be reduced to 10 men and it is the visitors who have seen a player receive their marching orders.

Ruffels, already on a yellow card, goes charging into a sliding tackle needlessly really. It is a second yellow card, the referee has got that one right, and Michael Appleton's night goes from bad to worse.

  10. CLOSE!published at 18:52 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Well, its getting frantic now.

A long ball eventually finds Shrewsbury's Josh Ruffels but he is unable to turn the ball home from close range.

Substitution time - Hayden Muller, who was booked in the first half is replaced, and Aaron Jones is on in his place.

As for the visitors, Anthony Scully and George Lloyd are off and John Marquis and Chuks Aneke are on.

  11. CLOSE!published at 18:49 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

Good chance for the home side to double their advantage soon after!

The ball breaks to Jayden Harris but his left-footed effort is well saved by Will Brook, who makes up for his earlier error somewhat.

Moments later, Jake Taylor receives a yellow card for a very bad challenge on George Lloyd on halfway - I think they call that one an 'orange card'.

    Sutton 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

I don't quite know what has happened there.

A goal should never go straight in from the corner.

There was nobody on the back post to get it away.

It is typical that Sutton score now, when Shrewsbury have been putting the pressure on.

    Kai Jennings (69 mins)

All the way in from a corner - Sutton lead!

After all the chances we've seen spurned tonight, the home side take the lead as AFC Wimbledon loanee Kai Jennings whips in a corner from the left which goes straight in without getting a touch from anyone.

Shrewsbury keeper Will Brook, who has played well until then, asks the referee for a foul but replays show there was nothing doing there.

Incredible stuff at Gander Green Lane.

  15. 'Really good football from Shrewsbury'published at 18:43 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

A real chance there from George Lloyd. He just couldn't get his feet together on the pivot to turn his effort goalwards.

Really good football from Shrewsbury though.

  16. CLOSE!published at 18:42 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

Great speed on the counter attack allows Ismeal Kabia to get to the byeline but Sutton's Jake Taylor times his tackle to perfection and the ball goes out for a corner.

From it, the loose ball falls to George Lloyd but off balance he swivels and strikes his effort wide.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:39 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

Ashley Nadesan is indeed substituted and on in his place is striker Kane Crichlow.

  18. Postpublished at 18:38 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

We have a brief break in play as Sutton striker Ashley Nadesan goes down and his race looks to be run for today.

  19. 'Shrewsbury playing with purpose'published at 18:37 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

Jack Sims had a quiet half in the Sutton net, but in the second half he has been superb.

He knows it is a real game of football now.

Shrewsbury have a much better tempo and purpose in the second half.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:36 GMT 6 December 2025

    Sutton 0-0 Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury's Isaac England is the first player to be replaced today and on in his place is Taylor Perry.
