Abdul Fatawu goes for goal from 40 yards out.

The Leicester winger scored from his own half last month so you can understand him backing himself.

    Anyway, this one is rubbish.

Another Sheffield United corner comes to nought.

The home side have been dominant for this first 30 minutes but they don't have a goal to show for it.

It feels like one of those games where if Sheffield United get the lead in the next 10 minutes or so they could build on it.

Leicester have really struggled in the opening stages of this match and haven't seen a lot of the ball.

It is all United in the first quarter of this match.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Leicester

Sheffield United midfielder Djibril Soumare maybe a little fortunate to escape without a booking for a late foul on Jordan James.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Leicester

Sheffield United cut the visitors apart and Patrick Bamford is in.

Andre Brooks slides the ball into the experienced striker's path but his right-footed effort is too close to Jakub Stolarczyk in the Foxes goal.

Sheffield Star journalist on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's a great spell for United. They're making Leicester work, they're not making it easy.

Tom Cannon is working those channels, which Chris Wilder said he didn't see enough of earlier in the season, he's certainly doing that so far today.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Leicester

Leicester are living on their nerves here.

A corner from the right is half-cleared to Andre Brooks about 12 yards out, fortunately for the away side the spin of the ball beats the Blades man somewhat and he shanks his effort harmlessly over.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Leicester

The home side looking the sharper so far.

Leicester have barely been over the halfway line in this opening dozen minutes.

It's a bit of a let off for Leicester with that set-play.

That's one off the training pitch.

Andre Brooks is looking very lively down the Blades right in these opening few minutes.

He shows great skill to get into the box before his cross is deflected behind for a corner.

The home side work a clever routine but Tom Cannon's shot is blocked.

Good play from Andre Brooks and he hangs up a deep cross to Patrick Bamford at the back stick.

The in-form Sheffield United striker goes for it on the volley but Foxes goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk makes a routine stop at his near post.

So, to the final game of our EFL New Year's Day feast.

Sheffield United raced into a 3-0 half-time lead at Leicester in the meeting between these pair at the end of November.

The Foxes scrapped back two goals in the second half to almost pull of a miraculous comeback but it wasn't to be.

Both teams have won three, lost two and drawn one since that game at the King Power. After poor starts to the campaign, they'll likely need to find better form than that over the coming five months if either are to find themselves in the top-six shake-up come May.

Ipswich Town have climbed into the top two of the Championship following their home win against Oxford United and Middlesbrough's defeat at Derby County.

Watford climb up to fourth in the Championship with a fourth consecutive league win and Preston are also in the play-off places following their convincing victory over beleaguered Sheffield Wednesday.

    Championship table

At the wrong end of the table, Norwich City go above Oxford United but remain in the relegation zone after the Canaries' win at QPR.

Charlton's point against table-toppers Coventry City meanwhile sees them go above Blackburn, who lost at lunchtime, to 19th.

  19. Championship headlinespublished at 17:17 GMT 1 January

Coventry are pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw at Charlton but extend their lead at the top to eight points as second-placed Middlesbrough fall to a 1-0 defeat at Derby.

Ipswich leapfrog above Boro into the top two with a 2-1 home win over Oxford.

But Hull miss the chance to move about the Teeside club with a 1-0 home defeat by Stoke.

The pressure mounts on Portsmouth boss John Mousinho as Pompey are thrashed 5-0 at Bristol City, while play-off contenders Preston ease past rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday.

In-form Watford rack up a fourth straight win as they dispatch Birmingham 3-0 and West Brom suffer a ninth straight away defeat as they lose 1-0 away to Swansea.
