Coventry City player of the match Matt Grimes speaking to Sky Sports:

"I don't think we can say comfortable [the win]. We started the game really well, asserted our dominance and got a couple of goals up at half-time.

"The message was clear, just keep at it. Thankfully we got a third at the start of the second half so it was a good day."

On his first goal of the season from the spot: "All our penalty takers were on the bench tonight so I found myselft taking it.

"Just pleased with the three points."

On whether he is getting excited about possible promotion to the Premier League: "No, not yet. There is still a lot of football to go. It's a bit of a cliche but still nine games left, a lot of points to play for.

"We're just taking it each game as it comes. Keep putting in performances like tonight and we give ourselves a good chance."

Oxford have a tough run in - but Pompey could be in real danger. That April fixture list makes for some horrible reading at for them. Two possible 6-pointers, as well as three of the top-6. Love this league!

West Brom’s fans applauded their team off at the end. As much as this result will hurt, every witness to this game will have identified that the Baggies showed some courage and quality tonight.

A tormenting end to a promising performance, but there’s hope for West Brom under James Morrison.

Is this the night that tipped the scales firmly in Coventry's favour once and for all?

If the Premier League felt close before tonight, it's certainly within reach now.

An emphatic victory for Frank Lampard's side and they are nine points clear of third.

Six wins in a row. The Sky Blues are starting to feel inevitable.

As for Preston, their season is deteriorating. That's now six without a win and just one win in 11. Very much a case of deja vu from last season for the Lilywhites.

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

I would love it if Frank Lampard came out and said that's it we are Premier League. He obviously won't but they are getting the job done. Middlesborough losing today makes it feel like they are gifting it to us but that just won't happen.

    West Brom 1-1 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

Quick forward play has made that goal. The goalkeeper had no chance, brilliant header. We have just got ourselves a point. That is what good teams do. Do we deserve it? It doesn't really matter.

Derby boss John Eustace was also in the squad.

"We're on our way, we're going to the Premier League," is the next chant from the Sky Blues faithful.

They are in party mode right now and who can blame them?
