To me Liverpool often look short of ideas when they box the opposing team in. I feel they’re much make of a counter-attacking team and even at home I’d like to see them utilise that. I know we like to see home teams dominate play but counter-attacking for me!

The first booking of the night goes to Fulham defender Jorge Cuenca after he makes no attempt to halt Justin Devenny's advance on the penalty area by legal means.

Free-kick in a central location 30 yards from goal, but Yeremy Pino's clipped delivery is easily hooked away.

There's a nervy moment for Crystal Palace as Dean Henderson leaves his goal to claim a long ball at the same moment that Maxence Lacroix heads it goalward, but the goalkeeper adjusts and manages to claim it.

Meanwhile, Fulham forward Kevin is down and requires treatment.

Make it make sense. If Ekitike dives there, then it’s a clear penalty. Plays fair and gets nothing.

Jaka Bijol is all over Hugo Ekitike and he is very lucky that the Liverpool forward didn't go down.

As a Liverpool fan, we’re now going under the radar. Keep churning out wins, strengthen in January window, and slowly overtake Villa by February. Once Salah is back, let’s go again!

More good defending from James Justin as he gets back to steal the ball from Andy Robertson before going down in his own box under contact to win a free-kick.

Just what Leeds needed to give them a breather.

  11. 'Brilliant from Ekitike'published at 17:45 GMT 1 January

Brilliant from Hugo Ekitike. He goes short and spins, using his body. If he goes down, he probably gets a penalty.

Hugo Ekitike shows great strength to hold off Jaka Bijol and looks to square for Florian Wirtz but there is a vital interjections from James Justin.

Ekitike feels he was being held back by Bijol and is adamant he should have a penalty. Nothing given though.

  13. 'Fulham's left-hand side so important'published at 17:45 GMT 1 January

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham

    Sam Parkin
Former Luton Town forward on Sky Sports

The left-hand side is so important for Fulham, Robinson, Kevin and Smith Rowe. Smith Rowe always likes to pull onto that side.

You expect a lot of their build-up and pattern to develop on the left-hand side.

Fulham have certainly taken the initiative in the early stages of this one with a few balls down the channels, but so far they've not fashioned any chances.

Palace look fairly comfortable, but then they haven't conceded a set-piece yet...

Leeds have started confidently here, both in possession and out of possession, but that's a warning sign for the visitors. Hugo Ekitike is in terrific form and he nearly punished Leeds for their carelessness there.

Hugo Ekitike has looked really sharp. When the ball comes into him, you think something is going to happen.

  18. CLOSE!published at 17:41 GMT 1 January

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Hugo Ekitike does really well to engineer a shot from a tight angle. It's not cleanly struck but Lucas Perri can only parry and has to rely on Pascal Struijk to clear with Florian Wirtz lurking.
