Dundee have completed their first bit of transfer deadline day business.

They have signed Dutch central defender Lewis Montsma on a six-month contract from English League One club Lincoln City.

If the 27-year-old impresses, the Dark Blues have the option to extend his stay at Dens Park.

Montsma has had an injury hit five years at Lincoln, but he still made 108 appearances, scoring 12 goals.

His arrival is a welcome boost to head coach Steven Pressley who has seen his back-line options severely restricted by injuries to Clark Robertson and Billy Koumetio.

A couple of clubs are clearly keen to get their business done and get an early night. Why couldn't they all be like that?

Aberdeen have just announced the signing of Dennis Geiger on loan from Hoffenheim. He joins on an initial loan, with the Dons holding an option to turn it permanent in the summer.

Dundee have welcomed Lewis Montsma from Lincoln City. He's a central defender, at Dens until the end of the season.

Falkirk have announced the loan signing of Aston Villa youngster Ben Broggio, while Hibs have brought in German defender Felix Passlack on a long-term deal.

And Kilmarnock have signed midfielder Aaron Tshibola. No, it's not 2018 again. Or 2020. The DR Congo international is just joining for a fourth time.
