BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

It's not often that an opposition substitute is welcomed on to the field by an away end.

But Aston Villa supporters clearly still have a lot of respect for academy graduate Jacob Ramsey, who left his boyhood club for Newcastle United last summer.

"Jacob Ramsey - he's one of our own," they repeatedly sing.

    Brentford 0-1 Nottingham Forest

After a few first-half injuries, this game is a bit behind the other two, but now the second half has started.

Joelinton has done his groin. You can see straight away that he's uncomfortable.

That's a big loss for Newcastle.

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelseapublished at 48 mins

    Joao Pedro

Chelsea double their lead. Estevao, who scored the first, gets the assist as he releases Joao Pedro down the right wing. Joao Pedro is able to run unchallenged, gets into the penalty area, cuts inside a challenge from Adam Wharton and blasts the ball into the net.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Chelsea

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace have to take the game to Chelsea in the second half to get back in to it. This will mean that there will be more space for Chelsea to get in behind.

Newcastle really lack cutting edge. They’d be better with Woltemade as a ten, playing behind Wissa, leaving Wissa free to get in behind the defence with his pace. Play both.

Do Chelsea deserve to be in front? No. Do Palace deserve to behind? Yes. You cannot miss huge goalscoring opportunities against a team like Chelsea without being punished. Maybe this is a sign of why we should cash in on Mateta, as he's simply not scoring often enough.

I think there's going to be another great second half of football.

Can Eddie Howe figure out how to get his side back into this?

I really don’t understand what has happened to Anthony Gordon - can’t cross, assist or score for love nor money. The World Cup looks a long way off.

Good half of football. You see Newcastle set off, put the tempo onto Aston Villa, putting them on the back foot.

And then it was all about the quality and if you switch off in the Premier League, Emi Buendia has been playing so well. It's a wonderful strike. So difficult for Nick Pope.

Estevao to the rescue so far, but all eyes are on Caicedo. Already on a yellow, he’s walking a tightrope, one mistimed tackle could see him off. So far he’s been exposed, making every interception a gamble. The tension builds: how long can he stay on the pitch?

    Martinez, London

Caicedo is one mistimed tackle away from a red card. Gotta think about replacing him, sadly, before we go down to 10 men.

Almost. Michael Kayode's long throw once again causes panic for the Forest defence and substitute Sepp van den Berg gets his head to it at the near post. Matz Sels can only watch on, but the header goes inches wide of the post.

Yoane Wissa had just nine touches in the first half. Newcastle need to offer so much more in attack if they are to get back into this.

Shame. This is the closest Palace have looked to a Premier League side for two months and we set up a goal for the opponent.
