  1. 'No penalty in my opinion'published at 15:41 GMT 25 January

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

    Darren Cann
Former Premier League assistant referee on BBC Sport

In my opinion, Crystal Palace were unfortunate to concede a penalty. The ball appeared to strike Jaydee Canvot’s hip prior to his arm, which was in a natural position. No penalty in my opinion as Canvot neither deliberately handled the ball or had his arm in an unnatural position.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 15:41 GMT 25 January

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

Estevao and Moises Caicedo have been replaced by Jamie Gittens and Malo Gusto for Chelsea, while Palace have brought on Chadi Riad and Will Hughes.

Soon after, Reece James is replaced by Jorrel Hato for Chelsea.

For 22-year-old Morocco defender Riad, it is his first appearance in the Premier League since August 2024 after a serious injury.

  3. 'Embarrassing by Martinez'published at 15:40 GMT 25 January

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at St James' Park

Here we go. The last couple of pieces of goalkeeping were excellent from Emi Martinez. He takes that one really well under pressure. Then there's hardly any contact and he hardly touches the post and goes down.

It is hideous. It is embarrassing.

  4. Postpublished at 15:40 GMT 25 January

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne takes out Anthony Elanga near the halfway line. That's a yellow all day long.

  5. Postpublished at 15:38 GMT 25 January

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa aren't happy as Morgan Rogers appears to be brought down on the edge of the Newcastle box. The hosts go straight on the attack and Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa heads away under pressure from Nick Woltemade.

From the following corner away keeper Emiliano Martínez goes down holding his back when not a lot appears wrong with him.

Caicedo isn't a liability on a yellow card - he becomes the best player on the pitch on a booking! Unlucky that Adam Wharton had to play against that today.

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

Youri Tielemans was limping earlier. We'll see if these three substitutions change this game.

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra at Selhurst Park

Frustration from Wharton. No need to dive in. It's a bit of experience lacking diving in and the ref has made the right decision.

  9. Postpublished at 15:36 GMT 25 January

    Brentford 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Brentford keep huffing and puffing, but very few clear-cut chances to report on as Nottingham Forest, without a shot in half an hour, are desperately trying to see this out and pick up a massive three points.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:35 GMT 25 January

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

Tyrone Mings, Lamare Bogarde, Lucas Digne are all coming on for the visitors as goalscorer Emiliano Buendia makes way along with Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans.

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:33 GMT 25 January

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

Almost a lifeline for Crystal Palace, but Brennan Johnson can only shoot just wide of the post.

    Brentford 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The frustration is certainly starting to build for Brentford and all of the fans here today.

  14. Postpublished at 15:31 GMT 25 January

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

More irritation for the Aston Villa manager Unai Emery as Youri Tielemans is brought down by Lewis Miley and there is no free-kick forthcoming.

Meanwhile, Tyrone Mings and Lucas Digne look like they are being readied for action.

  15. RED CARD - Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)published at 15:30 GMT 25 January

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

It's all going wrong for Crystal Palace as Adam Wharton is shown a second yellow card in the space of five minutes and he is sent off.

Just as the first one, he slid in late on Moises Caiceo and it's a clear decision.

    Palace down to 10.

    Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is not happy as Morgan Rogers tries an intricate little flick right in front of him and gives the ball back to Newcastle.

The hosts are on top and bulding a bit of pressure.

So they accept it's entirely accidental, i.e. he could not reasonably be expected to move his hand out of the way. But somehow the player still deserves a yellow card? Please explain how that makes any sense. It shouldn't even be a penalty, this law is ridiculous.

    Tim, London

Accidental handball, but still a penalty? Where are players supposed to put their arms in that situation? The ball was kicked at him from two yards, no time to react. Where's the common sense from refs?

    Martin, Grimsby

  18. 'Cool and calm penalty'published at 15:28 GMT 25 January

    Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra at Selhurst Park

Very cool and calm penalty there from Fernández. He picks his spot, hits it with power and precision. Henderson stands his ground - he thinks it is going down the middle - and it is a simple tap in.

  19. 'A worry for Dyche'published at 15:27 GMT 25 January

    Brentford 0-1 Nottingham Forest

    Luke Chambers
Former Nottingham Forest defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2

It does look like it's one-way traffic now and it must be a worry for Dyche with how his team are going to keep up the momentum of the game.

  20. Postpublished at 15:27 GMT 25 January

    Brentford 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Kevin Schade with a bright burst into the Nottingham Forest area, but he can't get his shot away or outmuscle Murillo who sees it behind for a goal kick.
