Ollie Watkins has really looked like he’s not been in good touch today, but that’s lovely movement and great perseverance to keep trying and keep searching for the chance, and eventually it paid off. He’s such an asset to Villa, and would be for any team.

A lot of bodies in the box and Sánchez does really well from the first shot, there's a ricochet from another shot from a Palace player, that goes to Richards to head in at close range.

It may not be popular opinion, but Glasner has to take most of the rap for this. It's clear he's lost the dressing room. When things go wrong it's never his fault. If I were the owner of a big club, I wouldn't touch Glasner with a bargepole.

    Newcastle 0-2 Aston Villa

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at St James' Park

I said these Aston Villa players won't be phased by the record of not winning here at St James' Park since 2005.

Villa smothered the edge of the area and kept it coming. Ollie Watkins can't believe his luck. He heads it down beyond Nick Pope.

That should be game done for Aston Villa.

    Chris Richards (Crystal Palace)

One of the scrappiest goals you could wish to see as Chelsea can't clear the ball inside their own penalty area and it bounces around.

But it then drops to Chris Richards and he heads in a consolation and 10-man Crystal Palace at least have a goal to cheer.
