  1. CLOSE!published at 12:41 GMT 21 March

    Cambridge United 0-0 Salford

Two opportunities for the home side to break the deadlock!

Cambridge United earn themselves their first corner of the game down the right hand side.

The ball is whipped in by James Brophy - and his corner is set to go all the way in - but is tipped over his own crossbar by Sunderland loanee Matt Young.

Moments later, James Gibbons makes good contact but can only steer his effort into the side-netting.

A few home fans thought Gibbons had grabbed an early opener there.

  2. Postpublished at 12:40 GMT 21 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Blackpool

Ryan Wintle takes a punt at goal but sees it blocked out by a Tangerine,

But that's not enough to whet Wintle's appetite. He sets the ball off for Rubin Colwill, who fires towards the bottom corner to force Blackpool keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell into his first bit of action.

Already the home side are in control. Might be a long afternoon for Ian Evatt's men should this continue how it started.

  3. goal

GOAL: MK Dons 1-0 Barnetpublished at 12:37 GMT 21 March

    Jon Mellish (7 mins)

Oh dear me, it's a howler from Cieran Slicker.

The Barnet keeper jumps up to gather a simple looped ball into the box but he completely makes a mess of it and spills it. It falls to Jon Mellish, who won't score an easier goal all season to tap home.

    Cambridge United 0-0 Salford

A deep corner from the right for Salford almost finds defender Ollie Turton lurking at the back, unmarked, but it is too high for him and goes out for a goal-kick.

    MK Dons 0-0 Barnet

Both sides fighting for early possession in the Buckinghamshire sunshine.

MK Dons swing a ball into the Barnet area but Cieran Slicker gathers comfortably.

    Luton 0-0 Stockport

Stockport have an early chance as the ball is whipped towards Tanto Olaofe but the header from the on-loan striker leaves much to be desired, heading well wide of the target.

Just a minute gone though. Plenty of time to rectify.

  7. Postpublished at 12:34 GMT 21 March

    Cambridge United 0-0 Salford

James Gibbons hurls in an early long throw for Cambridge United and his left-footed delivery, when the ball comes back to him, is well dealt with.

The U's then earn a free-kick within shooting distance but Salford deal with the danger once more.

  10. Cardiff and what might have been for Blackpool boss Evattpublished at 12:27 GMT 21 March

    Cardiff v Blackpool (12:30 GMT)

Ian Evatt might feel a sense of what might have been when he stands on the touchline at Cardiff City Stadium today.

The Blackpool boss was in the frame to take over at Cardiff last summer, but the Bluebirds entrusted former Manchester City academy coach Brian Barry-Murphy with the job of taking them straight back up to the Championship.

Despite a recent wobble of three defeats in six games, Cardiff remain second in League One, 10 points clear of third-placed Bolton Wanderers and the chasing pack outside the automatic promotion spots.

Blackpool, meanwhile, beat bottom side Port Vale on Tuesday to end a run of five games without a win and move within a point of safety.

Cardiff fans will not want to be reminded that Evatt was also part of the Blackpool team that won the 2010 Championship play-off final against the Bluebirds.

  11. Fish in for Cardiff; Tangerines change fivepublished at 12:26 GMT 21 March

Will Fish comes into the starting XI as Cardiff City's only change.

He replaces Gabriel Osho, who begins serving his suspension following his red card away to Wycombe last time out.

However, Blackpool shuffle things up from their win over Port Vale with five changes.

In comes James Husband, Tom Bloxham, CJ Hamilton and Karoy Anderson. They are joined by Fraser Horsfall, who returns having missed the game against the Valiants

George Honeyman, Niall Ennis, Joel Randall and Hayden Coulson all move to the bench, but Michael Ihiekwe misses out the trip as he continues to struggle with a toe injury.

Having to face a side 10 points deep into the automatic promotion places can be an exceptionally daunting task for a club looking to break out of the relegation zone.

An unsightly goal difference and teetering below the dreaded relegation line by a single point will have many Blackpool fans apprehensive about a trip to Cardiff City, who themselves are determined to make up ground on league leaders Lincoln City.

But after a thrilling 3-2 win over Port Vale in the week, this is no longer a Blackpool side that errs on the side of caution.

"Maybe the situation we've been in, the amount of injuries we've had, the run of results we've been on, perhaps I've felt pressure," Evatt told BBC Radio Lancashire after the match against the Valiants.

"In terms of the pressure [I've been] a little bit too cautious. It's not going to happen now.

"I reminded myself this weekend of what this club is - a club that outscores or tries to outscore the opposition in every game, and that's what we're going to try and do."

  13. Double change for Luton; Edun in for Stockportpublished at 12:23 GMT 21 March

Luton Town name a double change as Isaiah Jones and Jake Richards join the starting XI.

Gideon Kodua is available from the bench but Liam Walsh is missing from the squad.

Just one switch for Stockport as Josh Stokes makes way for Tayo Edun.

Thirteen times Stockport have faced Luton Town and of those unlucky 13, Luton have won eight and the remaining five have all been draws.

While the Mancunian Hatters might be above the Hatters of Bedfordshire on the table, history does not bode well for today's visitors to Kenilworth Road.

Sure, most of those results are long gone in the past but their recent tie in the reverse fixture was a 3-0 encounter in the hosts' favour and that will be something to trouble County boss Dave Challinor.

Stockport will get another go at trying to finally take a win over Luton when they meet at Wembley in April for the EFL Trophy, but wouldn't it be grand if they turned the tide here and gave their play-off rivals a hit to boot?

  15. Top six competition intensifiespublished at 12:20 GMT 21 March

The competition for the play-off positions will be the one to watch this afternoon.

Six teams will compete to either retain their spot or leapfrog inside the top six with four of those teams set to face each other - eighth placed Stevenage host sixth placed Reading, seventh placed Huddersfield Town make the trip to 10th placed Plymouth Argyle.

At the bottom Blackpool visit second placed Cardiff City at lunchtime in hopes of escaping the bottom four.

If they succeed, then Exeter City's reunion with former boss Gary Caldwell at Wigan Athletic will be frosty in more ways than one.

It's back to the tried and trusted for Cambridge United gaffer Neil Harris.

He brings James Brophy in for Korey Smith as the only change from the side that drew at Walsall, meaning it is the same starting XI that beat Gillingham 5-0 last Saturday.

Salford City boss Karl Robinson makes two changes from the side that beat Barrow in midweek.

Adebola Oluwo and Haji Mnoga come in, replacing Brandon Cooper and Rosaire Longelo.

  18. Confident Cambridge host in-form Ammiespublished at 12:14 GMT 21 March

Cambridge United v Salford (12:30 GMT)

Two in-form sides meet this lunchtime in a clash at the top of League Two as third-placed Cambridge United host fifth-placed Salford City.

The U's have lost just once at home in the league all season - interestingly against another side from Greater Manchester in Oldham Athletic back in September - on a marvellous run of 13 wins and nine draws from their past 23 matches.

Neil Harris' side sit just inside the automatic promotion places but have a game in hand on the top two to reduce the gap on MK Dons as their bid to return to the third-tier at the first time of asking continues to gather momentum.

Today may prove to be a difficult task however against an in-form Salford City side that have won four on the bounce in the league.

Tuesday's 3-1 victory against Barrow lifted the Ammies up to 67 points, with Fabio Borini scoring twice off the bench, meaning Karl Robinson's men are on their joint-best run of form in the EFL for 14 months.

  19. Three changes for Dons: Bees remain unchangedpublished at 12:11 GMT 21 March

MK Dons boss Paul Warne makes three changes to his side. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy gets the nod to lead the line, Connor Lemonheigh-Evans starts while Aaron Nemane returns to the XI.

Aaron Collins, Gethin Jones and Dan Crowley drop to the bench with Curtis Nelson missing out.

Barnet name an unchanged side to the one that drew at Crawley in the week.

Rhys Browne misses out for the Bees but they do welcome back Diallang Jaiyesimi and Joe Kizzi who are named among the substitutes.

    MK Dons are flying!

Paul Warne's side made it 14 league games unbeaten after their 1-0 win over Colchester on Wednesday which closed the gap on leaders Bromley to two points..

A win today would see the Dons go top ahead of Bromley's game against Colchester later.

Barnet go into this with no wins in their past three outings and sit 12th in League Two. That winless run has seen them lose ground in the play-off race with the gap to seventh-place Grimsby five points.

Dean Brennan's side stopped a run of two constitutive defeats last time out, drawing 1-1 at Crawley but will be disappointed in the nature of it after conceding a late penalty.

The Bees' record against today's opponents is not great having won just one of their five EFL games.
