  1. Why the EFL 'makes English football unique'published at 13:33 BST 11 April

    Going Direct - Tony Pulis

I've written a lot in this column about my experiences as a Premier League manager, but I also have many unbelievable memories of my life in the lower leagues, having been promoted out of each division.

Sometimes the rest of English football - anything outside the top flight - feels overlooked, but it shouldn't be.

England is unique in world football for the strength in depth of our professional leagues. No other country can compare with the number of professional clubs we have, or the standard of football as you go down the divisions.

Read the rest of Tony Pulis' column about why the English football pyramid is simply brilliant.

  3. 'Ipswich have shown knowhow'published at 13:27 BST 11 April

    HT: Norwich 0-2 Ipswich

    Glenn Speller
BBC Sport England at Carrow Road

Nothing not to like about that first 45 in terms of a spectacle and Norwich will wonder how they are 2-0 down given the number of corners they have forced and their domination of possession.

Ipswich have shown some knowhow and have created the clearer opportunities with George Hirst forcing two decent saves out of Vladan Kovacevic alongside his goal.

The return of Jaden Philogene to the Ipswich starting line-up has clearly helped the visitors.

Ali Ahmed, Kellen Fisher and Pelle Mattsson have shown-up well for Norwich but it is a long way back for them.

Ipswich are 45 minutes from regaining second place and recording their first league double over Norwich since 1993.

  4. 'Norwich had all the ball but did nothing'published at 13:24 BST 11 April

    HT: Norwich 0-2 Ipswich

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

The best side of Norwich is this left and we've counteracted that by playing to full-backs down that side, which is a great decision.

We have looked the better side, the referee gifted us a penalty which has helped, it's given us something to hold on to, but I can't see how Norwich get back into this game.

Even early on it was us hitting the target and having entries into their penalty area, Norwich had all the ball but did nothing, we had limited amounts of the ball but did something so that's pleasing.

I look at Norwich and there's not a player there that I fear.

We were led to believe that this was a team of world-beaters at Carrow Road, I don't see that here.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-2 Ipswich

A dream 45 minutes for Ipswich Town and their 3,000 travelling fans.

They had a spot of luck for their opening goal as Jack Taylor's theatrical slump in the box after he poked the ball off Anis Slimane's toe earned his side a penalty after an intervention from the referee's assistant on the far side.

Jaden Philogene coolly sent Vlad Kovacevic the wrong way from the spot and though Norwich grew in stature and won a series of set-pieces, they were unable to really test Christian Walton.

Then a slick break in added time saw George Hirst denied a second by a fine save from the keeper, only for him to get his goal from the subsequent long-throw, lashing home a bouncing ball in plenty of space after a neat glance from Jacob Greaves.

As things stand Ipswich are back into the automatic promotion places, Norwich's own play-off hopes look over and the visitors are 45 minutes away from a first Carrow Road win in 16 years and a first league double over their old foes in 33 years.

  6. 'Really poor defending from Norwich'published at 13:18 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-2 Ipswich

    Rob Newman
Former Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

That's really, really poor defending from Norwich.

George Hirst is just able to strike the ball into the ground.

Really poor goal to give away and that's a sucker punch for Norwich now, right before half time.

You can't leave the striker in acres of space off the long-throw, really poor awareness.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 BST 11 April

Half-time and it's not been the half that Coventry fans might have dreamt about last night.

They have been matched by bottom club Sheffield Wednesday who have not let their current form of 36 games without a win phase them.

The Sky Blues have gone closest to breaking the deadlock when Liam Kitching saw his goalbound header stopped on the line by Svante Ingelsson but they will certainly have to improve after the break.

A rocket from Coventry boss Frank Lampard awaits them in the dressing room, I expect.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 BST 11 April

    QPR 0-0 Bristol City

Finally some quality and it's a good double save from Joe Walsh to keep it 0-0.

Mark Sykes dances his way past a challenge to get into the box and draw a smart stop from the QPR keeper before he blocks again to keep out the follow-up from Emil Riis.

A good end to the half from the visitors but the two teams go down the tunnel all square.

  10. goal

GOAL: Norwich 0-2 Ipswichpublished at 13:17 BST 11 April

    George Hirst (45+1 min)

He didn't take long to make amends...

A Darnell Furlong long throw is nudged on by Jacob Greaves into the path of the lurking George Hirst who swivels to slam home a close range finish giving Vlad Kovacevic no chance.

A 10th of the season for the Town forward and what a time to get it.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:16 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-1 Ipswich

    Almost 2-0 out of nothing.

Jaden Philogene is played down the left by George Hirst and glides into the box before squaring back to Hirst but his first-time shot is too close to Vlad Kovacevic who makes a big block with his legs.

A yard either side and the lead was doubled. Big chance goes begging.

  12. Postpublished at 13:15 BST 11 April

    QPR 0-0 Bristol City

    Big chance for QPR.

Richard Kone with a free header in the six-yard box from Paul Smyth's corner and he gets up to meet it but nods it down into the ground and straight at Robins keeper Radek Vitek.

It has been a game of very few chances and that was the best one yet.

Earlier on, Joe Walsh atoned for his earlier mishaps to get down well to save a deflected effort from Emil Riis, before running out to prevent the follow-up.

Not the most entertaining half as the clock ticks towards 45 minutes.

  13. Postpublished at 13:15 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-1 Ipswich

Norwich have won a succession of corners late in the half but the Ipswich defence are holding firm for now.

Town struggling to get more than 10 yards outside their own box, though.

Ali Ahmed, who has had a quiet first half by his standards, whips in a high ball from the left but it's meat and drink for keeper Christian Walton this time.

  14. 'Coventry have not been as fluid'published at 13:14 BST 11 April

    Coventry 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

Coventry have not been as fluid, not moving it as quickly as they normally do here, keeping it, there's not been much.

Sheffield Wednesday have probably had more goal-mouth action and have perhaps been a little bit unlucky.

You have to win every game, this game was never going to be easy for us, nobody is going to give it to you.

  15. Postpublished at 13:13 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-1 Ipswich

Another heart-in-mouth moment for Christian Walton as he comes off his line towards Kellen Fisher's inswinging cross but Jacob Greaves takes command and glances a header beyond Walton but also beyond the far post for another corner, which comes to nought.

  16. Postpublished at 13:12 BST 11 April

    Coventry 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday fans are starting the ole's as passes go from side to side at the back.

Coventry need a spark, five minutes before half-time.

  17. Postpublished at 13:11 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-1 Ipswich

Another sloppy pass from Leif Davis allows Mathias Kvistgaarden to gallop away towards the Town box but he has to settle for a corner.

Kenny McLean's initial cross is cleared but his inswinging follow-up is brilliantly headed away by Dara O'Shea at his near post.

Norwich building a head of steam, though...

  18. Postpublished at 13:09 BST 11 April

    Norwich 0-1 Ipswich

Anis Mehmeti is buzzing around on the Ipswich right, trying to make something happen, but after working some room for a cross the ball breaks to Ben Johnson on the edge of the City box but he is crowded out before he can get a shot away.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 BST 11 April

    Coventry 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

First booking of the game goes to Wednesday midfielder Svante Ingelsson.

He goes sliding in on Haji Wright but wins the ball. Looked harsh.
