GOAL - Newcastle 2-1 Man Utdpublished at 22:09 GMT 4 March

    William Osula (90 mins)

    What a strike!

The 10 men of Newcastle look to have secured all three points and it is a brilliant run and finish by William Osula.

He chases after a ball down the right from inside his own half, just keeps the ball from going out of play, cuts inside and then bends a fantastic finish into the far corner.

A goal worthy of winning any match.

    Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd

What a strike by Joshua Zirkzee, who thumps a dipping effort that is heading into the goal but Aaron Ramsdale is able to push over.

That is Tyrell Malacia's second appearance of a season that began with him consigned to Ruben Amorim's bomb squad and then linked with moves away from Old Trafford in both transfer windows.

The Dutchman's Manchester United appearances have both come against Newcastle funnily enough.

  4. Postpublished at 22:08 GMT 4 March

Manchester United are the side pushing for the winner at the moment as Benjamin Sesko and Manuel Ugarte both see shots blocked.

He's played well today Elanga. He's been criticised for his time at Newcastle, his lack of productivity. But I think today in the position he played in the second half, he's put in a real shift.

Fernandes looks like he's been in one of his frustrated moods tonight, whatever he's tried hasn't really worked for him. One or two efforts from outside the box have failed to hit the target.

  9. Postpublished at 22:02 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd

Just under 10 minutes to go and it is hard to call who could win this. Newcastle have looked dangerous despite being a man down but Bruno Fernandes is capable of weaving magic at any point. He tries his luck with a delicate strike from outside the box, but it goes wide of the upright.

Newcastle should start games with 10 men as they seem to play better . They played Liverpool off the park with 10 men earlier in the season.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:55 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes is the architect of Manchester United's best chance of this half as he sends the ball to the back post where Leny Yoro is unmarked, but he heads at Aaron Ramsdale, who does react superbly to push the ball away.

Lovely ball again into the box by Bruno Fernandes but it just evades Benjamin Sesko.

If there is to be a winner for Manchester United you can almost guarantee Fernandes will be heavily involved.

Michael Carrick urges his Manchester United players to move the ball quicker but that message hasn't been picked up. It is like they are playing in treacle.

What a golden opportunity for Gordon. You do wonder if Newcastle will get a better chance. It's a wonderfully worked set play.

  19. CLOSE!published at 21:46 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd

Manchester United are very, very lucky not to be behind.

A clever routine from a corner drags almost all Manchester United players in the box to the near post and that allows Anthony Gordon to sneak away unmarked and meet the ball at the back post, but he fires wide.

  20. Fed up Bruno Fernandespublished at 21:45 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at St James' Park

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes appears a bit fed up.

He was unhappy at a couple of options taken by Bryan Mbeumo over the past few minutes and didn't really understand why Matheus Cunha played a straight pass into the area, that rolled out for a goal-kick, when he had already checked his run.

Manchester United need Fernandes switched on and concentrated, not distracted like this.
