    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United have had a lot of defending to do so far but they do look sharp when they do attack and a nice, flowing move ends with Matheus Cunha trying to slip the ball into the box for Bruno Fernandes, but Malick Thiaw cuts out the pass.

    HT: Fulham 0-0 West Ham

This is the first time the two Premier Leauge meetings in a campaign between Fulham and West Ham haven't yeilded a first half goal since 2020-21.

If you were hoping for a goal-fest tonight, then we can only apologise.

Listen to what that has done to the noise in this stadium. That's the closest Newcastle have come. It's a good chance and Barnes should hit the target.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:29 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

    Newcastle are getting closer!

Good persistence by Joelinton to win the ball inside Manchester United's box, Anthony Gordon then flicks the ball to Harvey Barnes, who bends an effort just wide.

In recent weeks, Woltemade has looked like a player lacking confidence. It's difficult as a player when you're not playing well, but the team also isn't playing well. He and Anthony Gordon have been two of the scapegoats for Newcastle.

  7. CLOSE!published at 20:28 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

Good hit by ex-Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga as he connects sweetly with the volley but the ball flies into the sidenetting.

Since Antoine Semenyo made his Man City debut in January, only Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres (10) has been involved in more goals in all competitions among Premier League players than Semenyo (7 goals, 2 assists), and Gyokeres is also the only player with more goals in that time (8).

BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at St James' Park

St James' Park has one of the press boxes that is lower down.

We are right behind the dug-outs, close to the pitch.

It means you get a real appreciation of how fast a Premier League match is and how quickly the ball - and players move.

It is a blur at times. It makes you appreciate the vision of the players, who see passes to play when it is hard enough working out where the ball is.

An entertaining half of football comes to an end as Chelsea lead.

  11. 'Brighton will be disappointed'published at 20:25 GMT 4 March

    HT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Rob Green
Former West Ham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at the Amex Stadium

Bart Verbruggen will be disappointed that he didn't manage to react from the deflection. Such disappointment from Brighton in that half because they were the better team. They were the team on the front foot.

Arsenal have done what they do. They got the goal and they got in the lead. They've been defensively assured and seen off pretty much everything Brighton have had.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

Villa Park is stunned after this turnaround from Chelsea.

They have been the better side even since Villa took the lead, to be fair.

A nice move by Newcastle sees Harvey Barnes in space on the left. He cuts inside and has a shot on the edge of the box but it is blocked.

    Joao Pedro (45+6 mins)

    Great finish.

Chelsea make their dominance count as Alejandro Garnacho plays a nice ball for Enzo Fernandez, who threads it for Joao Pedro.

Out comes Emi Martinez and Pedro lifts it beautifully over him.

Better from Manchester United as they have space to work in down the left, Bruno Fernandes tees up Matheus Cunha but the Brazilian, under no pressure, blazes his strike from distance well over.

  16. Much better start from Newcastlepublished at 20:20 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 0-0 Man United

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

If Newcastle United's start against Everton was lethargic at the weekend, their approach to tonight's game has been anything but.

The home crowd are roaring in encouragement.

Eddie Howe has both his palms outstretched on the touchline, urging his side to stay calm and keep possession.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:20 GMT 4 March

    Man City 1-0 Nottingham Forest

That's it for the first half at Etihad Stadium.

Man City dominate possession and went ahead through a brilliant Antoine Semenyo finish, but Forest had a couple of decent opportunities through Morgan Gibbs-White.

Newcastle are really pressing high and it has Manchester United a little rattled as Bruno Fernandes plays a no-look pass out wide but no-one is there, so probably should have looked.
