A swift Norwich break ends with Oscar Schwartau having his cross picked out of the air by Gavin Bazunu in the Southampton goal.

    The Saints are wobbling.

    Oxford hit back!

Brian De Keersmaecker's not had a great record in front of goal since joining Oxford in the summer, but he gets on the scoresheet for the first time in style.

He nutmegs Harrison Armstrong on the edge of the Preston box and smashes the ball into the top corner.

    Game on.

    Stoke 1-0 Swansea

First sighter of goal to the hosts.

Tatsuki Seko has time on the right hand side of the box and curls a cross towards the edge of the Swansea six-yard box where Bae Jun-ho heads just over.

Ethan Galbraith then has to head clear from another inviting cross as Stoke look to pull further clear.

    Canaries take flight.

A brilliant ball in from Jacob Wright just needs a touch and Jovon Makama provides it to beat Gavin Bazunu.

They had made a really bright start to the half and they have their reward.

A fifth goal of the season for Makama.

  6. 'Well-deserved two-goal lead'published at 13:35 GMT 13 December 2025

    Oxford 0-2 Preston

    Jack Bridge
    BBC Radio Lancashire

The front three for North End have been at it this afternoon.

It's a well-deserved two-goal lead on what is going to be an important afternoon for Preston.

  7. goal

GOAL: Oxford 0-2 Prestonpublished at 13:35 GMT 13 December 2025

    Daniel Jebbison (49 mins)

Oxford stunned. Preston have a dream start in the second half.

Alfie Devine and Lewis Dobbin play a neat one-two into the Oxford box with the former whipping in a low delivery towards Daniel Jebbison who makes no mistake from close range.

Great stuff from the visitors but Gary Rowett's side have their work cut out with most of the second half ahead of them.

  8. Postpublished at 13:34 GMT 13 December 2025

    Stoke 1-0 Swansea

Swansea have won just one of their last 14 league trips to Stoke and trail going into the second half.

They have the lowest xG in the division, but looked far more threatening than that on the evidence of the first period.

Both sides unchanged for the second 45.

  9. SECOND HALFpublished at 13:32 GMT 13 December 2025

    Back under way.

Just the two goals in the first half across the three early fixtures. Surely there will be more by the final whistle.

We hit the woodwork and miss a penalty, I can see Southampton stumbling in this game and coming away with nothing.

  11. 'Penalty save gave Norwich a lift'published at 13:24 GMT 13 December 2025

    HT: Norwich 0-0 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

I don't think there's much wrong here, it's just about winning the mental and physical battle. I think we have defended well.

I think the penalty save lifted them throughout the rest of the half. When you start getting things go your way you start getting yourself on the right path and that's what's happened with Norwich.

  12. 'Poor goal to concede'published at 13:22 GMT 13 December 2025

    HT: Oxford 0-1 Preston

    Peter Rhoades-Brown
Former Oxford and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio Oxford

It was a really poor goal to give away, we can't keep conceding these poor goals.

Both sides have pressed very hard, particularly in the early stages. Oxford came back into things after conceding.

We've won a lot of throws and corners but haven't got anything them. We've got it all to do in the second half.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 GMT 13 December 2025

    Stoke 1-0 Swansea

Ben Pearson's unlikely and sensational strike gives the Potters the edge at the break.

Swansea had had the better moments before the opener, with Stoke keeper Viktor Johannson having to make three good stops to keep it level.

    Anyone's game.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 GMT 13 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

A decent 45 minutes of Championship football.

The main talking point will be that Vladan Kovacevic penalty save to deny Southampton's Adam Armstrong while the visitors also struck the bar with a Leo Scienza free kick in the opening seconds.

But Norwich have played some good stuff without having someone to stick the ball in the net with both Jovon Makama and Amankwah Forson lacking composure in front of goal.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:17 GMT 13 December 2025

    Stoke 1-0 Swansea

From goalscorer to caution within minutes.

The adrenaline may still have been running as Ben Pearson is shown a yellow card for pulling back Gonçalo Franco.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:16 GMT 13 December 2025

    Oxford 0-1 Preston

Well, what an entertaining half for the neutral.

Almost 20 shots between the two sides and 11 corners. End-to-end stuff but it's Preston who lead at the break as Jordan Storey's header separates the two sides.

Oxford finished the first half strongly. Can they fight back when they return for the second half?

  17. Postpublished at 13:16 GMT 13 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

We will have an extra two minutes at the end of this very watchable first period.

  18. 'Norwich put up a good show'published at 13:16 GMT 13 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

    Rob Newman
Former Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

Norwich have put up a good show in this first half.

Jacob Wright has had a good half, he's been making good passes and runs in behind. He's causing the Southampton backline some problems.

  19. Postpublished at 13:14 GMT 13 December 2025

    It really is very open.

    What a finish!

Stoke probe down the Swansea right and then work it inside.

The ball breaks off a Swansea boot and into the path of Ben Pearson who does not break stride before curling an absolute blinder into the top left corner from at least 25 yards.

His first-ever Stoke goal - and what a way to get it!
