    HELLO.

    Wattimena with back-to-back 180 visits...

But then he chucks in 65.

    Boo.

    Anderson 0-0 Wattimena (1-0)

Gary Anderson has started out with the big scores again, getting to 90 in double quick time with visits of 171 and 140.

And he nails the leg in a dozen darts.

    Anderson v Wattimena

This is Jermaine Wattimena's fifth time in round three of the worlds. He has never gone further - is this the time?

    Anderson throws first, game on.

Gary Anderson was pushed by Connor Scutt but then he was back to his vintage best as the game progressed. If he can keep doing it he really can be a surprise package.

He's got the best version of Jermaine Wattimena too, so it really could be one of the great games this afternoon.

Gary Anderson will enjoy the pace of Jermaine Wattimena's game, that will please him. There's potential for his average to be even better.

I think that Gary Anderson will be the underdog against Jermaine Wattimena.

    Oscar

The match of the day could well be Anderson v Wattimena. Both big scorers on their day.

    Anderson v Wattimena

Onto the final match of the afternoon, and this one could be tasty.

Two-time former champion Gary Anderson averaged 105.41 in beating Connor Scutt in round two. Is he back to his best?

Meanwhile Jermaine Wattimena needed to come from two sets down to beat Scott Williams last time out. Will we see a stronger showing here?

We saw inconsistencies from both players, but it was a professional approach from Rob Cross. He took his opportunities, while Damon Heta missed at key times.

The scoreline doesn't necessarily represent what it could have.

  11. 'The second set was massive'published at 14:40 GMT 28 December 2025

    Heta 0-4 Cross

Rob Cross talking to Sky Sports: "I was alright at times. The crowd, I love them. They were amazing today. I am very grateful.

"Damo [Damon Heta] missed his chances. The second set was massive. I felt in control at times, but I definitely need to hold my own nerves together. I am a little bit edgy at times.

"I probably spent the first few sets a little bit cold today but I'm happy to get through. I'm sure when it is needed it will come out - it better do!

"I am a lucky person in life, to have all the right people around me. That is important. I am very grateful to the people I have around me. If you want to win this tournament it has to come out."

On facing Luke Littler in the next round: "He is the best player in the world at the moment for a reason. I won't worry, I'll just play darts. If I get a little bit of magic out of myself, who knows."

Loving the darts but anyone else getting absolutely fed up with the constant chanting of ‘Boring boring people’, it’s the people chanting who are boring, I now turn the sound off, next step is switching completely!

    Barry, Hampshire

I actually looked up this chant earlier - it's "Boring, boring tables", aimed from the cheaper seats at the more expensive areas of Ally Pally. Now you know.

David Munyua became one of the unlikely stars of this year's World Championship, beating former World Grand Prix champion Mike de Decker in round one before being knocked out in the second round just before Christmas.

The 30-year-old from Kenya, nicknamed "Why Not", works full-time as a vet and is also a massive Chelsea supporter.

He had never been outside Africa before competing at London's Alexandra Palace, and was a special guest at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea's Premier League match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Edgy from Cross, who needs a second visit with three at D8.

Wide, wide... fourth match dart nailed.

    Heta 0-3 Cross (1-2)

Cross moves himself to a finish, while Heta can't buy a triple.

Voltage needs 52 to seal the deal.

    Heta 0-3 Cross (1-2)

Damon Heta has hit just five of 17 doubles all afternoon, while Rob Cross has a 50% conversion rate. Those are the margins.

Heta can at least hold with a 105 finish - but lands wide of D16. Five of 18.

He gets it next time, but Cross now throws for the match...

  18. Postpublished at 14:27 GMT 28 December 2025

    Heta 0-3 Cross (0-2)

Damon Heta has the eyes of a man who knows defeat could be imminent.

Rob Cross gets to an 87 finish, and leaves Bull... just into the green.

However he returns needing 25, and knocks it off no trouble.

  20. Postpublished at 14:24 GMT 28 December 2025

    Heta 0-3 Cross (0-1)

Rob Cross will want to sweep this up now. A 180 puts him on track, followed by 140.

Damon Heta can snap back with 137 - but is nowhere close.

And Cross lands in D18, he's two legs from a meeting with Luke Littler.
