    Anderson 2-1 Wattimena (2-1)

    Anderson 2-1 Wattimena (1-1)

If we are going to see a nine-darter in any match this tournament, surely this is the one. The frantic pace though has slowed slightly.

Anderson lands a 101 finish - his first ton-plus out of the match - to hold throw.

    The pace is incredible.

Gary Anderson has visibly slowed down here though. He's just pausing for breath.

    Anderson 2-1 Wattimena (0-1)

Anderson averaged 121 in set three, Wattimena went at 108. The quality on show here from both players is staggering.

    Anderson 2-1 Wattimena (3-1)

Another 180 to start the leg from Anderson! That's the past three legs in this set started with a maxi by the Scot.

He follows it with 127, and is already on a set-winning 136... doesn't go.

However Wattimena misses the double on a 120 out.

Anderson cleans up to win a four-minute set.

    Anderson 1-1 Wattimena (0-0)

The last set took only four minutes and 34 seconds. Imagine needing less than five minutes to win a set of darts.

And Wattimena leads off again with another 180 - responded to immediately in kind by Anderson!

After two thrashings earlier this afternoon, it is good to see a more even contest here.

Lighter scoring in the latest leg, but Wattimena does enough to set himself up with three at D10 for the set.

First in single 10, then a miss, then single five!

    But Anderson can't punish...

And Wattimena lands D2. We won't have a 4-0 scoreline!

  13. Postpublished at 15:03 GMT 28 December 2025

    Anderson 1-0 Wattimena (0-2)

Jermaine Wattimena gets to a finish against the throw in leg two, but it is 121 and on this form at doubles he gets nowhere near.

But when Anderson can't land Shanghai, the Dutchman has another chance - and takes it!

  14. Postpublished at 15:01 GMT 28 December 2025

    Anderson 1-0 Wattimena (0-1)

Jermaine Wattimena has three darts at tops - and needs all of them, but finally solves his double problem.

    For now.

    Anderson 1-0 Wattimena (0-0)

Jermaine Wattimena started as he left off in the first set - with another 180.

But will he get the finishes he needs to hold this set?

  16. Could this go the distance?published at 14:58 GMT 28 December 2025

There have been two matches at this year's World Championship that have needed a sudden-death leg to decide a winner.

Scotland's Alan Soutar, in round one, and England's Justin Hood, in round two, have both won at the last gasp.

If we get to a seventh and deciding set and that gets to 5-5 in legs, the winner of the 11th leg will go through to the fourth round.

Wattimena hit three 180s in the first set, and was on a nine-darter twice.

But he only landed one checkout from 11 chances, a nine per cent rate.

No point getting the big scores if you can't back it up in the doubles.

Some of Wattimena's scoring here is remarkable. He leads off leg four with five straight T20s before narrowly missing a sixth.

How about his finishing? Not so good - missing D18 FOUR times in a row!

Anderson punishes him and claims the set.

  19. Postpublished at 14:53 GMT 28 December 2025

    Anderson 0-0 Wattimena (2-1)

Both of these men are recording 100-plus visits with ease.

Wattimena sets up a 170 finish, lands the two T20s, but can't find the bull.

And then he can't hit D16 on the follow up - twice!

    And Anderson holds on.
