It is Gian van Veen's fourth final in nine weeks and you've got to remember that he missed a week through illness and then probably came back a week too early so you can call it four in seven.

He is so capable and he is so good.

He really is. He has a way of winning when he's nowhere near his best and what a thing to have. That is a real God-given talent. He's never going to be flashy or one to set the board alight. He'll never buckle.

It hasn't been sky-high averages from Gian van Veen but he looks in complete control of the darts.

He looks like he means business and capable of every shot and visit. He withstood a lot of scoring from Josh Rock in that match and didn't flake. He wasn't bothered by anything that Josh did.

He is right back throwing well and he's got to feel like he's got every chance.

So who will win tonight's final then between Gerwyn Price and Gian van Veen?

Gerwyn Price has been like Luke Littler last week - it seems unplayable.

His 60s have been going in near the top and that just makes you relax.

It is so simple for him this evening, but he's just got to do it again.

It's been a great comeback from Gian van Veen just a couple of weeks after having surgery on his kidney stones.

If he can take that kind of pain no wonder he had no trouble dealing with Luke Littler's antics earlier, but Gerwyn Price has been in stunning form of late so this will be a tough one.

Price has to get over that hump though, and losing the Dublin final a fortnight ago when leading Littler 5-0 will still be in the back of his mind.

Josh Rock looks to the heavens after that wonder shot from Gian van Veen, as Rock didn't do too much wrong there with a 102.84 average and a whopping six 180s.

But we can't keep saying enough just how crucial hitting your doubles is, and this was a classic example - as while Van Veen averaged just over 95 he hit six of his eight doubles while Rock just three of his eight.

The difference was clear.

What a way to finish off a brilliant performance as Gian van Veen takes out 160 with two treble 20s followed by tops to seal the victory.

Gian van Veen gets one dart at tops for a break, and one dart is all he needs as he pins it to go one leg away from the final.

And he'll throw for that honour too as he's got the darts.

Josh Rock is proving himself as a player. The way he's competing tonight is showing that.

It's a high-quality match this as Gian van Veen shows with a brilliant 126 checkout to hold his throw. Josh Rock was sat on 129 and would've fancied making that had the Dutchman missed.

Things can change but you can envisage both of these players being in the Premier League in 10 years.

A 109 checkout by Josh Rock makes it 3-3 after a soldi enough hold of throw on five visits to the board.

Both men hit 140s but it's on the Gian van Veen throw and when Josh Rock can't take out a tough 161 he's able to clean up 32 to nudge back in front.

Josh Rock is put under pressure this time on his own throw but he withstands it to take out 94 to level us up again.

Josh Rock tries to turn the screw on the Gian van Veen throw with a 180, but the Dutchman answers back right away on his next throw.

Rock just misses double 16 for the break and Van Veen makes no mistake on double 14 at the first time of asking - he's pretty cool with those pressure double shots.

Josh Rock hits a 180-140 start, with just that sixth dart failing to hit the treble 20, so no repeat of his nine-darter from Belfast earlier this season.

It's a hold and levels the match early on though.
