Nathan Aspinall celebrates a 170 checkoutImage source, Getty Images

While we haven't seen any nine-darters yet, we have seen plenty of 170 checkouts - the highest finish possible in darts.

And Luke Humphries, last night against Gabriel Clemens, became the 10th player this tournament to win a leg by hacking up two T20s with bullseye.

Aspinall has just become the 11th. That is record-extending number.

    Here's the roll of honour:

    • Rob Cross
    • Gabriel Clemens
    • Brendan Dolan
    • Dirk van Duijvenbode
    • Krzysztof Ratajski
    • Nathan Aspinall
    • Joe Cullen
    • James Wade
    • Gian van Veen

That was an excellent display from Jock Rock. I was very impressed.

He wanted to make a statement and he looked really focussed when he came back for the second set. His scoring was excellent.

  12. More than half of the top 16 already outpublished at 20:14 GMT 29 December 2025

Fourth seed Stephen Bunting is the highest-ranked player eliminated from the tournament so far - but he is far from alone in being among the big names to bite the dust.

13th-seed Martin Schindler and 16th-ranked Damon Heta were heavily beaten on Sunday afternoon. So while you might expect the 16 highest seeds to all be in contention for the last 16, the reality is far from it.

Here are the players in the top 16 who have exited before round four.

    • Stephen Bunting (4)
    • Danny Noppert (6)
    • James Wade (7)
    • Chris Dobey (8)
    • Gerwyn Price (9)
    • Ross Smith (12)
    • Martin Schindler (13)
    • Nathan Aspinall (15)
    • Damon Heta (16)

    Rock 4-1 Rydz

Josh Rock talking to Sky Sports: "I am here to do a job and I did my job but I want to send my condolences to the Rydz family.

"I had to go a set down to wake up because the first set I didn't turn up. I was happy with the performance and the win also.

"I'm not here to make the numbers up, I want to win the title. If I keep playing how I am and I know I can, I can hopefully win the title."
