    Walter c Mousley b Bamber 46 (Warks 190 v Essex 103-3

He looked set for back-to-back fifties but Paul Walter falls four short.

he looks to turn Ethan Bamber into the offside for more runs but gets a leading edge which balloons to Dan Mousley at backward point.

    A second wicket for Bamber.

Sam Cook comes in as nightwatchman with five-and-a-bit overs to go.

  2. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 18:36 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 103-2

Charlie Allison plays a lovely back foot drive to bring up back-to-back fours off the first two balls of Keith Barker's latest over.

He works the next ball into the offside and it reaches the boundary in front of the Hollies Stand for three successive fours.

It brings up three figures in the 33rd over.

  3. Postpublished at 18:36 BST 18 April

Gloucs 34-3 v Lancs (trail by 70 runs)

James Bracey is now at the crease and he looks to glance one off his pads but gets nothing on it and Matty Hurst makes a good take down the leg side.

10 overs still remaining here at Bristol. James Anderson (1-9) will get us going with his sixth over of Gloucestershire's second-innings.

  4. Postpublished at 18:28 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 91-2

It's streaky but a first boundary after the resumption for Paul Walter who then adds a single off Keith Barker.

His fourth ball does too much and swings down the legside and down to the fine leg boundary for four more.

Super fielding at mid-on from Dan Mousley denies Charlie Allison another boundary. Nine from the over.

  5. Close of play at Southamptonpublished at 18:26 BST 18 April

Hants v Somerset 146-1 (lead by 96 runs)

What a day it has been for Hampshire.

Nick Gubbins will return to the crease 70 not out alongside Jake Lehmann (16 not out) after a terrific turnaround from the hosts who had started the day in a precarious position.

James Rew top-scored with Somerset with a terrific knock of 86 but once he fell at 175-4 - Somerset could only put on another 113 runs for their final six wickets.

A good tenth-wicket partnership between Alfie Ogborne and Jake Ball meant they led at the halfway point by 50 runs but that has since been wiped out and Hampshire now have a healthy lead of 96 runs with nine second-innings wickets remaining.

Tomorrow will be crucial to the outcome of this one - and we can't wait to be able to bring it to you!

  6. 'Sides looking to survive'published at 18:25 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 87-2

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

We really haven't seen a short leg anywhere.

The mindset of these guys is don't take the ball on, they're going to look to try and survive.

  7. Postpublished at 18:24 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 82-2

Ethan Bamber around the wicket to the left-hander Paul Walter and the first ball brings an instant lbw appeal.

It's comfortably going over the top - no dice.

Walter up and running as he nudges a single to move to 41.

Charlie Allison is tempted to lay at a wide one, but plays inside the line.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:23 BST 18 April

    Charlesworth c Jennings b Coughlin 13 (Gloucs 32-3 v Lancs - trail by 72 runs)

This is a shocker - a 17th wicket of the day's play at Bristol!

A full, wide delivery from Paul Coughlin is somehow edged to second slip by Ben Charlesworth who finds Keaton Jennings and the former England man makes no mistake.

We have 12.3 overs left tonight and Gloucestershire have to make sure this match doesn't get away from them before we reach day three.

  9. Postpublished at 18:21 BST 18 April

Hants 146-1 v Somerset (lead by 96 runs)

An under edge goes down to the fine leg boundary as Nick Gubbins moves onto 69 not out.

We will have one over left on a wicket which is offering pretty much nothing for the bowlers now.

  10. Play resumes at Edgbastonpublished at 18:19 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 81-2

After a break of two hours for rain, we're back.

Keith Barker will get us going once again as Paul Walter and Charlie Allison have to reset once again in what could prove a tricky early-evening spell.

Allison is a lucky boy as an inside edge flies past his off-stump and he runs through for two more.

We are due another 10 overs tonight. A good chance here for the Bears

  11. Postpublished at 18:18 BST 18 April

Hants 141-1 v Somerset (lead by 91 runs)

Jack Leach in his dusty jumper walks in for his 13th over of the second innings and strikes Jake Lehmann on the pads with his first ball but it is well outside the line of off stump.

Two balls later, Lehmann almost plays on and there's a bit of encouragement for the left-arm spinner.

There will be two overs left today on day two - what Somerset would give for a wicket in the final 12 balls.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:14 BST 18 April

    Price lbw b Anderson 5 (Gloucs 22-2 v Lancashire - trail by 82)

James Anderson to continue and his first ball is full and Ben Charlesworth so nearly chops on, but it squirts past his off stump.

But it takes just four more balls to get his first wicket of the second innings.

He swings one in to the back pad of Ollie Price and the finger swiftly goes up. Price goes for five.

This looks grim for the home side.

  13. 'Laundry to have a hammering'published at 18:12 BST 18 April

    Hants 238 & 137-1 v Somerset 288

    Simon Hughes
The Analyst on The Cricket Social

The laundry's going to take a bit of a hammering tonight.

Leach's back is covered in mud, Gubbins' front from a dive-in is absolutely covered.

The back of Leach's sweater is covered in dust for some reason, did he have a dive-in when he was batting?

  14. Postpublished at 18:10 BST 18 April

Hants 137-1 v Somerset (lead by 87 runs)

A lovely off drive by Jake Lehmann races away to the boundary as Hampshire push their lead up to 87 runs with four overs left in the day.

  15. Postpublished at 18:09 BST 18 April

    Gloucs 15-1 v Lancashire - trail by 89

Matty Hurst continues to stand up to the stumps to George Balderson, but Ollie Price responds with a nice clip through the legside for his first boundary.

    Another tidy over though.

  16. Postpublished at 18:07 BST 18 April

Hants 132-1 v Somerset (lead by 82 runs)

A couple of singles off Alfie Ogborne's first over back into the attack.

A good length by the left-arm seamer without anything looking particularly threatening.

We have a minimum of five overs remaining at the Utilita Bowl.

  17. Play to resume at 18:15 BSTpublished at 18:05 BST 18 April

    Warks 190 v Essex 79-2

    Good news from Edgbaston!

The super sopper has been hard at work, the skies have cleared and we will have more play.

We're due back on at 18:15 BST.

    Lancashire strike early.

It was Balderson who was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings and he gets his first of the second innings.

  19. Postpublished at 18:02 BST 18 April

Hants 130-1 v Somerset (lead by 80 runs)

Change in bowling for Somerset - Alfie Ogborne is back into the attack for the visitors.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:01 BST 18 April

    Gloucs 9-1 v Lancashire - trail by 95

George Balderson to bowl in tandem with James Anderson, fresh from his first innings five-wicket heroics.

Ben Charlesworth is off the mark to his third ball with a single.

    And Balderson has another!

Matty Hurst stands up to the wicket and takes a smart catch to an outside edge off Cameron Bancroft's bat.

Bancroft is furious and questions the decision quite openly with arms outstretch. He's convinced he got nothing on it.

    But Ollie Price is in.
