  1. 300 runs

up for Surreypublished at 18:02 BST 3 April

    Warwicks v Surrey 311-7

    The runs are flowing now...

Ben Foakes breezes to 188* with Sean Abbott on 33*, despite being beaten by a couple of Nathan Gilchrist deliveries in succession.

Surrey have a second batting point and have plenty of time to aim for a third.

Almost bored of repeating it, but they were 65-6 after lunch and they now have as many bonus points as their hosts, who were so good in the opening two-and-a-half hours of the day.

  2. Bad light & rain stops playpublished at 18:02 BST 3 April

    Somerset 292-6 v Notts

    Harry Everett
    BBC Sport from Taunton

I am surprised they managed to stay out there this long with the floodlights clearing making a massive impact, four shadows casted on each human on the field.

A few spots of drizzle too now as Nick Pepper's team bring all the sheets possible straight on, pretty sure that will be close even though both umpires remain on the field.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:01 BST 3 April

    Hudson-Prentice c Hill b Green 33 (Leics v Sussex 361)

Fynn Hudson-Prentice tries to hoist Ben Green over the mid-wicket boundary, gets it too high on the bat and Lewis Hill takes the catch to bring Sussex's first innings to an end.

Leicestershire will probably settle for that after coming in for some heavy punishment during the morning session on their return to Division One.

Tom Clark was the star for Sussex, making 101 from 164 balls, after Tom Haines had set the wheels in motion with a quickfire 56.

New captain Ian Holland and Green each took three wickets.

  4. Bad light stops play at Lord'spublished at 17:59 BST 3 April

    Middlesex 279-5 v Gloucestershire

They are off the field at Lord's with 11.2 overs of the day's allocation still to be bowled.

Not great timing as far as Leus du Plooy is concerned as he is just two runs short of a century, having hit 10 fours in his 144-ball innings so far.

He and Joe Cracknell - who is on 58 - have so far added 85 for the home side's sixth wicket.

  5. ouch!

Postpublished at 17:58 BST 3 April

    Som 292-6 v Notts

Jack Leach cops one just above the glove off Olly Stone.

It looks like they could finish for bad light any moment with only 7.1 overs remaining.

Paul Pollard and Graham Lloyd are conferring whilst Laura Holmes treats Leach's hand.

Archie Vaughan, not picked in the XI, carrying the drinks, stands there giggling at his September spin partner.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:57 BST 3 April

    Compton lbw b Roach 4 (Durham 335 v Kent 6-1)

Kemar Roach has a wicket in his first Durham over.

Left-hander Ben Compton plays across the line but really doesn't like this, is it too high, is it down leg, is he too far forward, is it all of the above?

Either way the finger is up and he has to go, and Sam Northeast joins Zak Crawley in the middle inside the opening over.

    Big scalp for Durham, that.

  7. Postpublished at 17:55 BST 3 April

    Northants v Lancs 314-5

Harry Conway gets another edge off George Balderson on 1 but Lewis McManus puts down again.

To be fair it is nearly first slip's catch but the keeper dives across and makes a valiant attempt only for it to bounce off the his gloved fingers.

Would it have carried to Ricardo Vasconcelos at slip? Probably is the answer looking at the replays.

  8. Postpublished at 17:55 BST 3 April

    Glamorgan 64-4 v Yorks

Still 14 overs to go at Sophia Gardens because of the late start as George Hill starts a new one - his fifth - for Yorkshire.

Matthew Revis is now operating at the other end after Logan van Beek's initial three-over spell for the Tykes cost him 22 runs.

  9. Kent begin reply to Durham's 335published at 17:55 BST 3 April

    Durham 335 v Kent 0-0

Ben Compton and some chap named Zak Crawley stride out to begin Kent's reply in the lengthy shadows at CLS.

Kemar Roach takes the new ball on debut for the hosts after his nice cameo with the bat.

  10. 100 runs

for Ben Foakespublished at 17:53 BST 3 April

    Warwicks v Surrey 289-7

    Superb. Sheer, sheer class.

Chris Woakes strays onto Ben Foakes' pads, and you don't want to do that.

A flick of the wrists and the ball is at the mid-wicket boundary.

102 from 176 balls and it's been a vital knock for his team, leading them from the precipice at 65-6 to the brink of a second batting point.

Good afternoon Rob and Brendan, if you're following on... we've got one for you to look at.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:50 BST 3 April

    Robinson c Cox b Scriven 13 (Leics v Sussex 357-9)

Sussex have three batting points but might have to settle for that.

Ben Cox takes his third catch of the day behind the stumps to send Sussex skipper Ollie Robinson on his way.

And what a fabulous catch it was - diving full length to his right to take it one-handed.

  12. Postpublished at 17:49 BST 3 April

    Warwicks v Surrey 285-7

Glorious back-foot drive from Ben Foakes through extra cover to the rope off Chris Woakes takes him to 98*.

Timing, placement, weight, footwork, all perfection.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:46 BST 3 April

    Abell c Verreyne b Stone 108 (Som 286-6 v Notts)

186 balls Tom Abell faced, the last seeing him tickle behind off Olly Stone.

Abell is one of the most polite cricketers you will ever meet and he starts walking almost before the ball nestles in the gloves.

There have been 86 plays and misses by the Somerset batters so far today, as well as Abell batted, with this quality Notts seam bowling there was going to be one at some point he got a nick on.

Jack Leach in at eight, potentially a night watcher ahead of Miggy Pretorius here, though he did get runs in the preseason game v Glamorgan here last week.

  14. wicket

    WICKET - DURHAM 335 ALL-OUTpublished at 17:46 BST 3 April

    Roach c Northeast b Stewart 21 (Durham 335 all-out)

Sharp catch from Sam Northeast to oust Kemar Roach for a lively 21 and give Grant Stewart a third wicket.

Kent's late frustration is over. They will now start to chip away at that total of 335 in the 16 overs which will remain after the change of innings.

real see-saw feel to this one all day long, momentum shifting every hour, but Durham will be satisfied with their total having been put in, and having been 290-9, while Kent will be happy to have bowled a side out in the first innings, and made headway from 189-3 at one point, thanks to Emilio Gay's superb 128.

Kasey Aldridge ends unbeaten on 44 on debut.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:45 BST 3 April

    Jones c Vasconcelos b Conway 71 (Northants v Lancs 312-5)

And an excellent, if not chanceless, innings comes to an end as Harry Conway cramps up Michael Jones as he tries to steer it into the off side and ends up steering it into the hands of first slip.

Ricardo Vasconcelos does the honours and a very entertaining knock is over.

  16. 6 runs

for Sean Abbottpublished at 17:42 BST 3 April

    Warwicks v Surrey 265-7

Sean Abbott picks one up off his hip and deposits it over the square leg boundary and into the building site on that side of Edgbaston - and as it's a Bank Holiday there's nobody there to throw it back.

A new four-over old ball will be required.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 17:41 BST 3 April

    Hants v Essex 219-3

A slight delay to proceedings as the ball goes missing following a boundary which moves Matt Critchley to within one hit of a century.

And then a spattering of rain which sends the players from the middle and the hovercover rumbling on.

There is going to be break while this shower passes.

  18. Postpublished at 17:37 BST 3 April

    Warwicks v Surrey 264-7

Ethan Bamber angles one in on leg stump and it thumps Ben Foakes on the pads and races away.

Bamber wheels around to appeal but the umpire thinks it's heading down leg. Tight, but he might be right. Just a leg-bye and Foakes remains 93*.

  19. 6 runs

Postpublished at 17:36 BST 3 April

    Glamorgan 47-4 v Yorks

Logan van Beek is short and wide and Colin Ingram slaps it away for a flat six at Sophia Gardens. Not where you want to bowl to the South African.

  20. Postpublished at 17:36 BST 3 April

    Northants v Lancs 307-4

A new ball in the hand of Harry Conway and Michael Jones is doing his best to soften it.

After two dot balls he creams back to back to back fours (the first a peach stepping down the wicket at the seamer and battering it Kevin Pietersen style to the cover boundary.

He is denied a fourth consecutive boundary by a determined run from Nathan McSweeney who races to the extra cover boundary to keep the last hit to a three.
