Have your say on England men this summer

One look at the replay on the big screen and Kane Williamson is walking off.

I think he knew even before reviewing.

  2. NZ reviewpublished at 10.4 overs

This one has got to be out!

Yes, it's given on the field - but Kane Williamson reviews with a second to spare. That in itself suggests he knows he's in trouble.

  3. NZ 29-1published at 10 overs

Devon Conway is struggling, though. It's been a gutsy effort from him and Williamson so far.

That is really tight. If you're a bowler you're feeling aggrieved.

  5. Not outpublished at 9.5 overs

    Oh, that is close.

Umpire's call on impact and Conway survives - that worked against him in the first innings but it's come to his rescue here.

  6. Eng reviewpublished at 9.5 overs

    Big appeal!

Ollie Robinson didn't look too keen on Jamie Smith standing up to the stumps but it might've paid off here as Devon Conway is trapped on the crease.

  7. NZ 28-1published at 9.3 overs

Doesn't matter where the keeper is if you bowl there, though.

Short, wide and cut for four by Williamson.

  8. Postpublished at 18:42 BST 5 June

Jamie Smith is up to the stumps now, forcing Williamson to stay in his crease.

With the ball moving all over the place, this will be a challenge for Smith, whose keeping was often in the spotlight during the Ashes.

  9. NZ 24-1published at 9 overs

    Target 254

Promising start from Kane Williamson. He times the ball nicely through the covers for three more before pinching a single from the final ball of Tongue's over.

    20 minutes to go.

    Vic Marks
Former England spinner on Test Match Special

Devon Conway doesn't look a man in great nick. This isn't the surface you want to play on to get back in form. It's a battle but he's still there.

    Isa Guha
Former England bowler on BBC Radio 5Live Sports Extra

Ollie Robinson's been relentless with the length that he's bowling.

  12. NZ 20-1published at 8 overs

    Target 254

    Nearly!

Devon Conway drives frantically again, but gets lucky as the ball lands just short of Ben Stokes at cover.

    Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special

New Zealand have just managed to take the sting out the game this pair. We know from this pitch there's always something out there.

You've got to be so watchful, sometimes you get balls there's nothing you can do about, ask Jacob Bethell about that!

Driven beautifully by Williamson, all class in that shot.

  15. NZ 19-1published at 7 overs

    Target 254

Peak Kane Williamson, driving beautifully straight down the ground for his first boundary.

That would've felt very good after he was worked over by Ollie Robinson.

  16. Postpublished at 18:28 BST 5 June

Just a quick three-over burst for Gus Atkinson, who took the wicket of Tom Latham in the first over.

    He's replaced by Josh Tongue.

Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special

I haven't played here for years but the slope was the main thing you used to have to deal with. Uneven bounce on days four and five, but not on days one and two. You might have to deal with swing too.

But I don't remember ever batting at Lord's having to deal with as much these sides have in this Test.

  18. NZ 13-1published at 6 overs

    Target 254

Uneven bounce off a good length and Devon Conway is struck on the glove.

    Good luck with that.

  19. Postpublished at 18:24 BST 5 June

    Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special

The partnership with Gus Atkinson and Jamie Smith was absolutely crucial. The whole momentum of the Test had gone with New Zealand with those four quick wickets and they played beautifully together.

  20. NZ 13-1published at 5 overs

    Target 254

    It's still doing all sorts.

Kane Williamson is squared up by Gus Atkinson as the ball shoots off the outside edge for a couple, before the next ball jags back and he edges on to the inside of his thigh.

    Ouch.
