    Crawley c & b Starc 0 (Eng 0-1)

Zak Crawley goes for a pair!

It's an incredible catch by Mitchell Starc, adjusting in his follow-through and completing a full-length dive to take Crawley's prod with his left hand just above the ground.

We have to endure a lengthy replay check to ensure Starc didn't ground the ball, but even though his hand is facing down he has the presence of mind to cock his wrist and keep the cherry off the pitch.

Magnificent work from the Australian seamer, not that that will offer any solace to Crawley.

I'll be interested to see if Australia can get any wobble seam today.

Mitchell Starc hangs his first delivery outside off stump, trying to tempt Zak Crawley into the drive.

The England opener leaves it well alone.

I'm interested to see what Zak Crawley is going to be like. We all know Mitchell Starc is going to pitch it up, will he play the right shot?

As long as England win, Crawley can play as aggressive as he likes.

One think I like about Ben Stokes as a captain is that he looks after the human being. Wood and Atkinson both didn't get any wickets yesterday so he put them in today to try and get them one.

As the Australian bowlers warm-up, here's a tiny bit of news from the England camp.

Joe Root jarred his leg in the warm-up to today's play... but he was out in the field for Australia's innings, so hopefully no harm done.

We won't have an Usman Khawaja situation should England lose early wickets.

A few overs in the field will have done Crawley and Duckett a lot of good. Dissipate some of that nervous energy and get them used to the crowd and conditions. I’m expecting a big score from one of them this morning.

Yesterday reminded me of the West Indies in the 1980s. They were relentless and just rotated through those four pace bowlers all day.

Well done England. Good length, bit of an away swing, Brydon Carse has bowled beautifully.

England have shown a lot of character there. They would've been disappointed with that first batting performance which actually looked alright in the end. They need to get around 350.

Lyon c Duckett b Carse 4 (Aus 132 all out)

The bowling change works a charm!

Brydon Carse takes the final Australian wicket with his second ball, drawing an edge from Nathan Lyon that is taken by Ben Duckett in the cordon.

England secure a first innings lead of 40 - not the circumstances Australia would have expected to find themselves in after they bowled the tourists out for 172 yesterday.

A decent shot from Brendan Doggett, driving Mark Wood into the covers and picking up a single.

Meanwhile, out around the cricketing world, Sam Konstas has been dismissed for 43 on day one of New South Wales' Sheffield Shield game against Tasmania, while England under-19s' spinners starred as they beat their West Indian counterparts in the third ODI of their series.
