  1. NZ 121-5published at 18.3 overs

Solid running between Suzie Bates and Izzy Sharp for two, but they can't find the boundaries.

Ireland have been fantastic. They have been so disciplined.

  3. NZ 118-5published at 18 overs

Despite the disappointment of the dropped catch, that's a brilliant over by Orla Prendergast. Just seven runs conceded. She's been so good today.

  4. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 17.3 overs

    NZ 114-5

Orla Prendergast is back into the attack and should have her third wicket.

Izzy Sharp finds the fielder in the deep but Rebecca Stokell - with the sun in her eyes - can't hold on.

  5. NZ 111-5published at 17 overs

New batter Suzie Bates is off the mark with a single. Important few overs coming up - how many can New Zealand get?

Trying to hit the Ireland spinners is quite tricky because they don't give you much pace on the ball. Brooke Halliday is someone who wants pace on the ball because she's really clever.

Nobody has looked pleased on this pitch yet. The evidence would suggest it is a bit slower than we think.

Brooke Halliday just never quite got going. She looks a frustrated figure as she trudges off.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.4 overs

    Halliday c Maguire b Murray 34 (NZ 110-5)

The partnership is broken. Brooke Halliday sweeps straight into the hands of Aimee Maguire at short fine-leg.

Halliday has been far from fluent today and this dismissal pretty much sums up her night, as Cara Murray picks up her second wicket.

  9. Postpublished at 19:38 BST 19 June

A break in play as Brooke Halliday is being seen by the New Zealand physio. Not quite sure why, but she seems OK to carry on.

    As you were.

It is definitely time to kick on for New Zealand now. Ireland will be delighted that the past two overs have gone for seven each.

  11. NZ 106-4published at 16 overs

    Halliday 31 (34), Sharp 31 (23)

Oh, that was close. Arlene Kelly bowls straight and just outside off and Brooke Halliday plays and misses. It's inches from the off stump.

A brilliant over by Kelly at this stage of the game. Seven from it.

  12. NZ 100-4published at 15.1 overs

The batters exchange a thumbs up as a single brings up the 100 for New Zealand.

Orla Prendergast will look to use her bouncer really effectively at the end of the innings. It could be a good weapon on this ground with the big square boundaries.

  14. NZ 99-4published at 15 overs

Brooke Halliday top edges a spinning delivery by Aimee Maguire but it lands safe. A slice over extra cover also steers clear of a fielder.

    The 50 partnership is up.

New Zealand have edged in front again on WinViz...

  16. NZ 92-4published at 14 overs

Lara McBride completes her fourth over with a pretty uneventful six balls for six runs.

Time for drinks. Brooke Halliday and Izzy Sharp have done well here to steady things. They need to kick on a bit more now.

I love the intent. It is wanting to score and wanting to create momentum.

It feels like Izzy Sharp has decided she is the one who is going to go. It is great from her as an inexperienced player.

  18. NZ 86-4published at 13 overs

    Sharp 25 (18), Halliday 20 (21)

Izzy Sharp is the one looking to take risks here for New Zealand. She swipes hard and it drops short of Orla Prendergast - running in from long-off - and races down to the boundary.

  19. NZ 78-4published at 12.3 overs

Lovely shot from Izzy Sharp. She takes a huge stride and drives Aimee Maguire down to the long-off boundary.

Once again, where is Orla Prendergast? When are Ireland going to bring her back into the attack?
