  1. Ire 20-1published at 4 overs

Shot. Orla Prendergast takes two steps down the wicket and drives gloriously down to the boundary. Timed to perfection.

  2. Ire 15-1published at 3 overs

    Target 141

Is this a missed opportunity? Jess Kerr is the bowler as Gaby Lewis plays off her pads and it flies over deep fine-leg. If the fielder had been on the boundary, it would have been a simple grab.

New Zealand have been sloppy in the field. They fumbled seven catches against West Indies and three more against Sri Lanka.

  3. Ire 6-1published at 2 overs

That dismissal looks better with each replay.

Orla Prendergast did a fine job with the ball and now she has to replicate that with the bat.

There was some late movement there. That is exactly what you want from your opening bowler - it is a great start for New Zealand.

    Hunter b Illing 2 (Ire 6-1)

Bree Illing is a bit wayward with her line early on but makes amends with a superb yorker to see off Amy Hunter. A fantastic delivery with some late swing.

  6. Ire 3-0published at 1 over

    Target 141

Gaby Lewis is up and running with a flick off the hips for two.

A tidy over by Rosemary Mair and a watchful start by the Irish openers.

  7. Ire 1-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 141

Ireland and Amy Hunter are off the mark with a single.

The sun is still shining strong at 20:10 BST in Southampton as shadows cover half of the wicket.

The New Zealand team are in a huddle. This is a hugely important 20 overs for the champions. They will hope experience will get them over the line here.

Irish captain Gaby Lewis and batting partner Amy Hunter have made their way to the middle and seamer Rosemary Mair has the ball in her hand.

    Here we go.

When you are an opposition player and you look at the Ireland team, you look at three players: Gaby Lewis, Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast.

It is a change today but Gaby and Amy are very used to batting together and that shouldn't be an issue. It is a change I like.

    What do you think?

Thumbs up for an Ireland win or thumbs down for a New Zealand win.

Ireland have a great chance to win their first T20 against New Zealand - 140 is an OK score.

At the toss they'd have been hoping to keep New Zealand under 160.

They'll just be thinking about whether they could have attacked more from 10-3.

  12. 6 runs

    NZ 140-6published at 20 overs

Well, that's the way to finish. Suzie Bates pulls the final delivery for six. The first maximum of the New Zealand innings.

Ireland will need 141 runs to win. Doable, but will they do it?

  13. NZ 134-6published at 19.5 overs

Suzie Bates makes some space and hits it into the leg side for two.

  14. NZ 132-6published at 19.4 overs

Superb bowling. A yorker and just the one conceded.

  15. NZ 131-6published at 19.3 overs

Jess Kerr goes down the ground and they run two.

  16. NZ 129-6published at 19.2 overs

The wicketkeeper is up to the stumps. Suzie Bates goes for the ramp shot and it comically falls by Amy Hunter's feet. She had no idea where the ball was.

  17. NZ 128-6published at 19.1 overs

How big will New Zealand go here? It's going to be hard to get Orla Prendergast away. They need Suzie Bates on strike.

  18. NZ 126-6published at 19 overs

Suzie Bates adjusts her body and plays a cheeky reverse-pull type shot for four.

I am hugely impressed by the Ireland bowling. Anything that New Zealand have done to move around the crease, they have just followed them really well. They should be really proud of their bowling and fielding effort.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.4 overs

    Sharp c Prendergast b Kelly 36 (NZ 121-6)

But Ireland find a wicket. Izzy Sharp advances down the wicket and finds the fielder at long-off. A simple enough grab at head height.
