    Hardik c Stubbs b Maharaj 18 (86-6)

I doubt Gautam Gambhir told you to do that, Hardik.

The India batter gets out from the first ball after the drinks break, holing out to Tristan Stubbs at long-off.

The fielder has to toss the ball up in the air to ensure he doesn't go over the boundary with ball in hand, but steps back in to complete the catch.

He then gestures angrily to the air - perhaps the spider-cam distracted him?

Feels like India are just trying to limit the damage to the net run-rate. South Africa have been outstanding, the game against the West Indies should be a cracker.

  3. drinks break

    Ind 86-5published at 14 overs

    Need 102 from 36 balls

Lungi Ngidi's third over goes for five singles - the seamer has figures of 0-12 thus far.

The players are taking their second drinks break - India coach Gautam Gambhir walks onto the field but I'm not sure what advice he's going to offer given the required run-rate is exactly 17 runs an over.

It's not the performance the fans would have wanted to see from India. Ahead of this game, India were well aware that they haven't been at their best.

  5. Ind 81-5published at 13 overs

    Need 107 from 42 balls

    Back comes Marco Jansen.

His latest over goes for six runs - five off the bat and one leg bye.

This partnership is now worth 30 runs from 23 balls - a platform, but the acceleration would to be incredibly dramatic.

  6. Ind 75-5published at 12 overs

    Need 113 from 48 balls

A clean hit from Shivam Dube, powering Kagiso Rabada straight down the ground for a one-bounce four.

He pulls the following delivery and drops the ball a little short of Tristan Stubbs, who ran in from long-on.

  7. Ind 68-5published at 11 overs

    Need 120 from 54 balls

Five more runs from the rest of the over.

India will need plenty more big hits from Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya if they're going to get anywhere near South Africa's total.

Hardik Pandya's the man you need to clear the boundary!

The new batter lumps Keshav Maharaj's first ball over long-on for six.

  9. Ind 57-5published at 10 overs

India still can't find the boundary.

Shivam Dube throws his hands at Corbin Bosch's last delivery, the ball flies out towards the fence but Marco Jansen runs round and uses his long reach, diving to restrict Dube to two.

We've had one breach of the ropes in seven overs - India's required run-rate is 13.10.

Suryakumar Yadav just didn't time it and couldn't believe that he picked out the fielder.

The crowd pick up their noise and enthusiasm to welcome Hardik Pandya. If he can turn something around here, then it will be one of the all time stories for him in India colours.

    Suryakumar c Brevis b Bosch 18 (Ind 51-5)

Not the shot you want from your skipper.

Corbin Bosch has a second wicket after Suryakumar Yadav slaps the ball towards Dewald Brevis at mid-wicket, with the South African fielder running a few paces to his right to complete the catch.

That ball, heading down leg, should have been sent to the boundary.

Four singles from Lungi Ngidi's latest over - another excellent effort from a South African bowler.

He also landed a ball on Suryakumar Yadav, in an Test Match Special commentator Prakash Wakankar described as "just below the belly button, maybe a little lower."

    Very diplomatic.

Four more runs off the remainder of Corbin Bosch's over - three singles and a wide, with new batter Shivam Dube getting off the mark.

Lungi Ngidi is going to bowl next - South Africa have changed bowler for every over thus far.

Corbin Bosch gets a wicket with his second ball!

He angles a delivery across the body of the left-handed Washington Sundar, who flashes a faint edge to wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock.

South Africa's multi-faceted attack continues to turn the screw.

There will be a degree to which India need to think about taking risks because the last 24 balls have yielded just 19 runs. Without the six it would have been a far bleaker position than that.

    There's the boundary!

South Africa bring on spinner Keshav Maharaj for the first over out of the powerplay and his first five balls go for five singles.

Suryakumar Yadav breaks the drought from the last delivery, getting under the ball and sending it flying over backward square for six.

South Africa on top at the drinks break, then. And they are indebted to this mid-innings recover job by David Miller. Can SKY do the same for India?
