    B Manenti c Jones b Davidson 52 (Ita 129-5)

Ben Manenti attempts to hit Oliver Davidson over long off but instead holes out to Michael Jones.

That's a hammer blow to Italy's hopes given they are a top-order batter down following the injury to Wayne Madsen.

I'm surprised they have given Davidson another over. He has been their weak link so far of the six options they have.

  3. 50 runs

Fifty for Ben Manentipublished at 13.4 overs

Ben Manenti becomes the first Italian to make a half-century at a World Cup.

He brings it up in style, dismissively striking Ollie Davidson down the ground for six.

Italy are still hanging in this contest.

  4. Ita 119-4published at 13.1 overs

    Ben Manenti continues to attack.

He drills Ollie Davidson's first delivery of his third over through the covers for four.

    Top shot.

Michael Leask is a fiery character.

That wicket was really needed for Scotland!

    H Manenti c Munsey b Leask 37 (Ita 113-4)

A passionate roar from Michael Leask.

Italy were just starting to threaten here, but Harry Manenti perishes.

The Italy batter strikes Leask down the ground but George Munsey's hands are as safe as houses down at long-off.

A couple of feet in from the boundary and he snaffles the catch.

The Manenti brothers are Sydney based, incidentally.

Ben follows his brother's intent and hits back-to-back boundaries off Scotland spinner Mark Watt.

The first is thrashed through the covers and the second disappears right back over Watt's head.

Credible effort from Italy as their reply moves into three figures.

Harry Manenti is unbeaten with 36 from 23 balls while brother Ben is 26 not out off 20.

'Team' is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, I reckon.

Brandon McMullen, who gave it some fearful hammer with the bat earlier, gets a run out with the ball for Scotland now.

He oversteps with his third ball and Harry Manenti dispatches the free hit back over the bowler's head for six.

Our reporter in India, Matthew Henry, has been speaking to the Italy media team and he asked them if Wayne Madsen will bat with a dislocated shoulder.

    "Wait and see," they teased.

    Chris Woakes reprised?

The Associate teams have the best kits at the World Cup, by the way.

Nepal's is a beauty. Both Italy and Scotland look the business today.

My only gripe is the font for 'Italy' on the front of the Azzurri shirt is way too small.

Harry Manenti slog sweeps Ollie Davidson over the boundary at deep mid-wicket for six. Italy still making a decent fist of this.

Scotland are playing the percentages and keeping Italy quiet.

  14. Ita 75-3published at 9 overs

Harry Manenti and Ben Manenti deftly working Scotland around, but will it be enough?

Ben helps one down drifting down leg side from Michael Leask on its way down to the boundary at fine leg for four.

Italy don't have loads of power in their batting but they are capable of manipulating the field and scoring heavily with good cricket shots.

  16. Ita 66-3published at 8 overs

Brad Wheal with a diving effort for a catch at short third from a Ben Manenti cut.

    It races away for four.

The bowler, Mark Watt, has head in his hands.

A relatively tight over from the Scottish left-arm spinner, though.

  17. Ita 59-3published at 7 overs

    Target 207

Brad Wheal, who was whacked for 23 off his first over, returns.

He offered too much on the leg side but is a lot tighter to the stumps this time around.

Five runs off the over. The run-rate climbing for Italy now.

Italy are actually ahead on the worm but the wickets they have lost, and that injury to Wayne Madsen, look like being decisive.

Left-arm spinner Oliver Davidson is thrown the ball by Scotland skipper Richie Berrington.

Harry Manenti and brother Ben at the crease for Italy now.

The former shows some positive intent - thrashing Davidson through the covers for four then ending the over with a hearty biff over square leg.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.4 overs

    A Mosca c Munsey b Watt 13 (Ita 40-3)

Scotland's catching has been absolutely on point.

More spin in the form of Mark Watt and it delivers another wicket.

Anthony Mosca cuts Watt straight into the hands of George Munsey who is safe as houses at backward point.
