Bristol is comfortably the hardest place in the country to bowl spin in T20I cricket.

Spinners average 37 in Bristol with an economy rate of 8.6 - both are the highest for any ground in the country to host a T20I.

Harry Brook rattles off another couple of boundaries. His second four of the over is well-placed along the floor in between deep mid-wicket and long-on.

Two wides from Shivam Dube don't help India's cause either.

England have got themselves in to a great position here. No need for shock and awe but can they resist and show maturity, batting sensibly through to the death?

    Simon Bland, Wadhurst

Not sure we're going to get to the death at this rate, Simon.

England need 54 runs from 66 balls and have hit 37 runs off the past two overs.

It goes from bad to worse for India.

Abhishek Sharma put in a good dive as he attempted to stop a drive from Harry Brook but can only watch in agony as his parried effort trickles into the rope.

And then, a simply humongous six to bring up Brook's half-century off just 21 balls.

Phil Salt joins the party, dispatching a full and wide delivery over the rope. Poor bowling from Axar Patel.

Sorry but India are dreadful. You’re meant to be world champions and yet they’re playing like a bunch of amateurs. They’ve got one mindset and when that even marginally falls apart, they are absolutely clueless.

Dot, four, six, four, four, single. Washington Sundar is wearing a look of desperation, Harry Brook is cruising.

That was short, but not everyone would have been able to hit that for six.

I'm not sure how you bowl to this man.

You might get him eventually when he tries something really elaborate.

    Eng 78-1published at 7.3 overs

Harry Brook misses out on Washington Sundar's first delivery but he clobbers the second down the ground for four.

He follows it with a swiped six into the leg-side. Brutal hitting.

It is not the start that India wanted but England have batted really well.

For India, it is all about wickets, but the problem is, England's batting line-up is very deep.
