  1. 50 runs

50 for Shreyas Iyerpublished at 33.2 overs

A half-century for Shreyas Iyer, celebrated with a six off Jofra Archer. Pulled over fine leg. Lovely striking.

England will want to see the back of him soon.

England have had a lot of wickets from edges and mistimed shots.

Match has gone, England won’t be chasing down 250, let alone 320+. Move on to the next one. Those that fail here again need to be dropped: Mahmood, probably Rashid, Bethell if he doesn’t make a 50.

    Jack, Nottingham

  4. Ind 181-5published at 33 overs

Axar Patel's innings begins with two dots.

I think England will be feeling reasonably happy with life.

These are invaluable wickets for England, it delays the surge from India. They are going to have to be a bit cagey, you'd think they'll have to be more discreet. They do have plenty more capable batsmen though.

I think England have just managed to keep it in control so far. They were able to get something just before it seemed like there would be a major acceleration from India.

    Washington c Buttler b Mahmood 2 (Ind 181-5)

    Gloved and gone.

Saqib Mahmood's short ball accounts for Washington Sundar, a back-pedaling Jos Buttler taking a comfortable catch behind the stumps.

India are five down with 17.2 overs to play. Out walks another player who scored an unbeaten half-century at Edgbaston - Axar Patel.

The Indian batsmen have been very lucky today. A lot of edges and miss hits just missing the fielders.

  9. Ind 181-4published at 32.3 overs

Washington Sundar and Shreyas Iyer exchange singles. One of the shots hits a seagull in the outfield and the injured bird is carried from the field by Jacob Bethell.

Washington is down receiving treatment to his right hamstring. Extensive taping going on.

Oh Deep, you shouldn't provoke me into instigating a vote.

Thumbs up if you think India will get to 300. Thumbs down if you don't.

Saqib Mahmood will bowl the 33rd over.

What is a good total here? With that partnership, India looked on track to get to at least 290, maybe even 300. Now, who knows?

  12. Ind 179-4published at 32 overs

Washington Sundar, fresh from an unbeaten half-century at Edgbaston on Tuesday, is the new man in.

He dots out his first delivery and then dashes through for a single to finish the over.

Lapse of concentration as far as I'm concerned. It wasn't short enough for Kohli to pull it. He's batted beautifully so far, this puts India under a bit of pressure now.

It's exactly what Harry Brook and England needed, it's going their way now.

Kohli is out the very next ball, would you believe it! Archer with the breakthrough.

  15. wicket

    Kohli c Rashid b Archer 65 (Ind 178-4)

    Or don't carry on.

Virat Kohli plays an unconvincing hoick, edges it, and picks out Adil Rashid at third.

Jofra Archer makes the breakthrough for England. Kohli departs for 65 (66).

  16. Not outpublished at 31.3 overs

There's a cheer around the ground as it's confirmed that Virat Kohli got his bat on that but it fell comfortably short of Jos Buttler.

    Carry on.

I heard two noises, I think it's inside edge onto the thigh pad.

  19. Umpire reviewpublished at 31.3 overs

Oh, England are very interested in this. Jofra Archer thinks he's had Virat Kohli caught behind. Has it carried?

The umpires want another look before making a decision.

  20. Ind 177-3published at 31 overs

Adil Rashid pulls the over back nicely. Eight from the first half, just a single in the second.

He's unlucky not to have a caught and bowled to his name, reacting quickly to a chip from Virat Kohli which falls just short of his outstretched hand, but his figures (0-34 off five) aren't great.
