I've been impressed with Harry Brook's bowling changes again.

  2. Ind 201-7published at 38 overs

Shreyas Iyer gobbles up a short delivery from Jofra Archer, pulling fine for four.

He immediately follows it with a single, seemingly reassured by Gurnoor Brar's defence in the previous over. Brar covers drives elegantly for a single of his own. Lovely from India's number nine.

Brar later survives a vicious bouncer from Archer.

Seven from the over. 200 up for India.

That Archer over certainly changed the complexion of the game, giving all sorts of options to Brook.

If I was Harry Brook, I'd bowl Archer out to try and end the innings as soon as possible.

We only really see this type of cricket in Tests.

You feel that India will have to keep the board moving to some extent though.

  6. Ind 194-7published at 37 overs

Shreyas Iyer has started turning down singles. He plays Saqib Mahmood's third delivery down to third and finally deems it safe to call Gurnoor Brar through for one.

It's the only scoring shot of the over.

England have really gone into the pitch since Gus Atkinson's return to the attack in the 28th over, operating with an average length of 8.5 metres. They've bowled only two deliveries fuller than six metres.

  8. Ind 193-7published at 36 overs

Jofra Archer fires a short ball at Gurnoor Brar who is lucky not to divert his defensive effort into his grille/body.

No hat-trick but Archer has ripped India open.

Well, there is some cleverness there. I think Dube knows they're going to pepper him. He's kind of loitering on that back foot. Archer got it full but Dube's not going anywhere. He middles it straight back at Archer.

It wasn't the most devious ball but it had the length. Now India are thinking if they are going to bat for fifty overs, it's usually what England are thinking.

First ball, it's pitched up, that's a decent catch from Archer in his follow through. Archer on a hat-trick!

    Dube c & b Archer 0 (Ind 193-7)

That's a lovely take from Jofra Archer in his follow-through, snaffling the catch at hip height to his right. Shivam Dube was not expecting that fuller delivery.

    Archer's on a hat-trick.

The balance is shifting in this game, no question. It's not lateral movement, it's surprising bounce. Archer creates bounce on fairly docile surfaces but there's a bit in this one.

The Indian batsmen have struggled with the bounce, another critical wicket for England.

England have stuck at it and they've picked up three quickish wickets here.

    Axar c Buttler b Archer 1 (Ind 193-6)

Oh dear. A tiny little feather on an attempted uppercut goes through to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and Axar Patel falls for 1.

From 178-3, India are 193-6 with Jofra Archer striking twice.

Shreyas Iyer is in danger of being stranded here.

The Indian batsmen may have been quite lucky in general (15.31) but hitting the only bird in the outfield has got to be pretty unlucky, although even more so for the gull.

I just sent the family WhatsApp group a photo of Stephen the Seagull who'd been happily watching the whole game, then 10 seconds later he's been leathered by the ball and had to be stretchered off. He did get a round of applause as he left mind.

That was nearly the wicket that England are desperate for. Shreyas Iyer miscuing one over the head of mid-off.

  17. Ind 191-5published at 35 overs

Ooooooh that was a sketchy single from Axar Patel, taking on Jacob Bethell's bullet arm!

Saqib Mahmood, collar up, is unlucky not to make it two wickets in two overs, Shreyas Iyer's skied effort landing just short of Harry Brook at long-off.

Three singles. 15 overs to go.

We're getting to that period of the game where India will be wondering when they are going to put their foot on the accelerator?

There's been no sideways movement but plenty of bounce.

  19. Ind 188-5published at 34 overs

Shreyas Iyer takes a single off the penultimate delivery of Jofra Archer's seventh over to keep the strike.

Axar Patel is yet to get off the mark.

Shreyas Iyer brings up the 50 in 42 balls. It's his 29th score of 50 or more in ODIs including five centuries. It's his fourth half-century against England but he is yet to put up a century against them. He averages 46 in ODI cricket.
