Bizarre tactics from Gambhir. Only three specialist bowlers, his four "multi-role" players only contributed four runs and only 233 to defend. Another indictment on his coaching logic.

The first innings was disappointing, some poor batting from India. Looking at the pitch, India will be looking to get some early wickets, get into that middle order and try to make it a game. I think they are 30 or 40 overs short.

The way India were batting, we were looking at 300. There is something for the bowlers on this surface, so who knows.

England have successfully chased down their last seven targets of under 250 in ODIs at home, last failing to do so in the 2019 World Cup final (tied).

    A frustrating innings for India.

They were 104-1 in the 18th over and 178-3 in the 32nd.The final seven wickets fell for 55 runs.

Shreyas Iyer top-scored with 66 (71), Virat Kohli also scored a half-century (65 off 66), and Jasprit Bumrah flashed a handy 20 not out (13) from number 10.

Lack of game awareness and game smarts. It's so much like England in Birmingham. Last few wickets it felt like they could get some more on the board.

    Krishna b Atkinson 0 (233 all out)

    Gus Atkinson strikes again!

Prasidh Krishna had defended nicely for two balls and only needed to navigate one more to hand over Jasprit Bumrah. But he went for a big heave-ho and has his stumps rearranged.

India are all out for 233 - quite the collapse from 178-3.

England will be chasing 234 to level the series.

A little bit of a lazy shot from Shreyas Iyer. It was a good delivery from Atkinson, back of length, fourth or fifth stump line, Iyer looking to play it to third for a single.

Every time India seem to be going somewhere, it seems to be one step forwards two steps back.
