    Lancs v Middlesex 6-0 (target 117)

Sam Robson gives Middlesex a good start to their chase, guiding Jimmy Anderson through the covers for a boundary - but this pre-lunch period could go a long way towards determining the momentum of this fourth innings.

Lancashire will be encouraged by their most recent game at Old Trafford, when Derbyshire, having been set 138 to win, were bowled out 30 short.

Weatherald b Robinson 13 (Leics 29-1, trail by 73 runs)

Big movement back in from Ollie Robinson and that locks on to off stump late and sends it spinning.

Jake Weatherald doesn't hang around continuing his initial movement into the shot into a brisk walk from the middle as the Sussex skipper celebrates loudly.

    Great start for Sussex.

    Notts 415 v Surrey 298-4

    Surrey's Dan LawrenceImage source, Shutterstock

Dan Lawrence cuts Liam Patterson-White to the boundary and that brings his third century of the season, from 138 balls.

Excellent knock by Lawrence, who continues his recent trend of converting 50s into hundreds. It's also a century partnership between him and Adam Thomas, who is 40 not out.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catch for Nottspublished at 12:32 BST 10 May

    Notts 415 v Surrey 292-4

Nottinghamshire are still searching for the breakthrough this morning - and they should have achieved it just now.

Josh Tongue draws the edge from Adam Thomas and Ben Duckett, diving to his left at second slip, spills the opportunity.

Thomas and Dan Lawrence have added 95 so far and Notts may regret missing that chance to end the partnership.

  5. 50 runs

50 partnership for Gregory and Abellpublished at 12:29 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 229 v Somerset 354 & 114-8

Captain Lewis Gregory leading from the front in Cardiff for Somerset, crunching three fours off a Ryan Hadley over to bring up the half century partnership with Tom Abell.

Gregory now 38 in 47 balls, and Abell is 37 from 67 balls. Momentum starting to swing again in Wales.

    Mayes c & b Harmer 8 (Essex 273 v Hants 235 & 110-4)

Simon Harmer has got a bit of turn this morning but that does not look to have done much.

Ben Mayes simply chips it back to the bowler who takes a low catch in front of the stumps.

Bit of a tame end and Hants are four down with a lead of just 72 runs.

  7. LANCS ALL OUT - MIDDLESEX NEED 117 TO WINpublished at 12:24 BST 10 May

    Green c Roland-Jones b Sharma 5 (Lancs 201 & 84 v Middlesex 169)

Four wickets for Naavya Sharma in just 10 balls!

Chris Green swings him to long on, where Toby Roland-Jones takes the catch - and Lancashire have been rolled for just 84 in their second innings.

Sharma finishes with 4-17, with Ryan Higgins taking 4-27 and their side now need 117 for victory.

It doesn't sound much, but a certain Sir James Anderson will have ball in hand and can make life very difficult for Middlesex in these conditions.

  8. Somerset struggle their way to second-innings hundredpublished at 12:24 BST 10 May

    Som 105-8 & 354 v Glam 229 (Som lead by 230)

Somerset have had a difficult second innings, but could still build a decent lead and give their bowlers something to bowl at.

Their fans should still feel fairly secure as the ever-reliable duo of Tom Abell and skipper Lewis Gregory build a partnership.

If Glamorgan take these two wickets quickly though, they could fancy themselves in for their second win of the season.

  9. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 229 v Somerset 354 & 100-8

Somerset do reach a century, and their lead at Sophia Gardens is 225.

Lewis Gregory (25*) and Tom Abell (37*) remain in the middle, and the longer these two can stay there, the harder the job the hosts - despite how well they have bowled in the past 32 overs - will have on their hands.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 12:15 BST 10 May

    #bbccricket

Graham Clark continues to lead the Durham response to Worcestershire's 308, now on 78 not out as the visitors reach 259 and grab a bonus batting point.

Ben Charlesworth has gone for six as Gloucestershire attempt to re-build a lead against Kent in Bristol. The home side are 14-1 - an advantage of 12 as the second innings gets underway.

Two more wickets have fallen in Derby as Northants continue to toil against Derbyshire. Calvin Harrison remains in the middle (58*) but the visitors are 137-6 chasing 604.

    Bailey c Higgins b Sharma 4 (Lancs 201 & 81-9 v Middlesex 169)

No hat-trick - but Naavya Sharma has three wickets in his first over!

Tom Bailey hangs out the bat and Leus du Plooy grabs the chance high in the slips.

Here comes last man Jimmy Anderson for Lancashire.

  12. Wicketless at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:13 BST 10 May

    Surrey 277-4 v Notts 415

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Dan Lawrence and Adam Thomas are batting nicely here, and so far haven't given much of a chance against the new ball.

I wonder if this could be a tough slog for the Nottinghamshire bowlers. None of the top five bowl (not even part-time), so they are relying on only five bowling options - four seamers and the left-arm spin of Liam Patterson-White.

If the morning session remains wicketless, it could prove tiring work after lunch for the Notts bowlers!

  13. Postpublished at 12:12 BST 10 May

    Lancs 201 & 81-8 v Middlesex 169

Tom Bailey edges the hat-trick ball from Naavya Sharma - but it's wide of the slips and rolls away to the rope.

Lancashire lead by 113 - but they have only two wickets left after this fiery entrance by Sharma.

    Hurst c Higgins b Sharma 7 (Lancs 201 & 77-7 v Middlesex 169)

Tom Hartley is the new man in.

  16. Postpublished at 12:07 BST 10 May

    Notts 415 v Surrey 272-4

A rare case of overpitching by Fergus O'Neill and Dan Lawrence seizes the opportunity to drive him to the cover boundary and advance into the 90s.

Lawrence is looking for his third hundred of the season and his only nervy moment this morning was a leading edge off Lyndon James, which looped just out of the bowler's reach.

  17. 'Wonderful batting by run machine Simpson'published at 12:03 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 - Sussex lead by 102 runs

    Hove

Cold, grey, and a hint of drizzle in the air at Hove but Sussex supporters will have been warmed by another wonderful batting performance by the run machine that is John Simpson

The 21st of his career and the 11th since he arrived at Sussex he went to his hundred with a six over square leg and in so doing has ensured that Sussex secured a fourth batting bonus point .

The floodlights are also now on and with a lead of 102 and a pitch that is still helping the seamers, Sussex look in a strong position

  18. Postpublished at 12:01 BST 10 May

    Lancs 201 & 70-6 v Middlesex 169

Attritional stuff at the moment, with Matty Hurst and Chris Green hanging in there as they try to stretch this Lancashire advantage - currently at 102.

Middlesex have bowled Toby Roland-Jones and Ryan Higgins unchanged through the opening hour, so they'll probably be shuffling the seam pack fairly soon.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Calvin Harrisonpublished at 12:00 BST 10 May

    Derbyshire 604-7 v Northants 123-6

A defiant knock from Calvin Harrison, who reaches a half century in Derby having seen the majority of his teammates come up short in their attempts to chase down a big first innings score from Derbyshire.

  20. SUSSEX 430 ALL OUTpublished at 11:59 BST 10 May

Crocombe lbw b A Patel 13 (Sussex lead by 102 runs)

Former Sussex skipper John Simpson raises his batImage source, Shutterstock

John Simpson sprints from the middle unbeaten on 114 after Henry Crocombe is trapped in front of at least two of the three stumps by Ajaz Patel.

It brings to an end the Sussex innings and gives them not only four batting bonus points but a healthy lead of 102 over their visitors Leics.

Simpson's century was the highlight probably given it came in just 133 balls but Dan Hughes 136 and Jack Leaning's perfectly round half century helped.

Leics look up against it going into their second innings but we will be back in 10 to see how openers Jake Weatherald and Rishi Patel can respond.
