    Carlson b Bess 53 (Glamorgan 302 & 153-4 v Yorks 226)

    Breakthrough for Yorkshire.

Extravagant turn for Dom Bess and the ball somehow slides off the full face of Kiran Carlson's defensive bat and onto his stumps.

Slightly unlucky exit for Glamorgan's skipper. The lead is 229.

Wide and Miles Hammond cannot resist taking a swipe. He gets a toe end on the bat through to Joe Cracknell and Middlesex have a breakthrough.

Everyone saying Jamie Smith should be straight out for Rew hasn't noticed that Smith has a higher average in tests than Rew in FC cricket. Rew will obviously get in the England setup soon but I am not sure Smith is the one to make way

    Fred, Hampshire

Lovely to have the county game back but sorry to not be there in person. Listening to Warks in, for now, sunny Crete.

    Christine, Crete

We all agree it's lovely to be back, Christine, but... Crete or Birmingham in April, Crete or Birmingham in April... it's a tough call.

    Somerset 347 & 263-3 v Notts 338

Pretty sedate going at sunny Taunton as Somerset's Tom-Tom pairing of Abell and Lammonby are patiently guiding the hosts towards a lead of 300. It's 272 at present with 81 overs remaining on the slate.

If Notts are going to have any chance of sneaking a win they need a flurry of wickets promptly. The new ball is 11 overs away.

Easy single for Stevie Eskinazi off Jack Carson, which carries him to 50 off 122 balls. A very sensible, disciplined innings thus far.

"We know his record from playing for Middlesex, I've always thought he's a very good player," says Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace in the BBC commentary box.

  6. Durham collapse in CLSpublished at 11:53 BST 6 April

Durham 118-7 lead Kent by 256

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I was talking earlier about a declaration but that probably won't happen now because Durham have lost 5-19 in seven overs this morning.

The pitch seems to be doing a bit and some of the batsmen are clearly struggling with the slow pace. Graham Clark and Ollie Robinson were both through their shots early. Clark was caught at point, on three, off Glenton Stuurman, while Robinson clipped Keith Dudgeon to Tawanda Muyeye in the covers.

Ben McKinney was the first player to go this morning. Moments after a thick inside edge he was then bowled for 38, having added 73 for the third wicket with David Bedingham.

Matt Milnes bowled McKinney and then took Bedingham's wicket a few minutes later when he was on 48. The ball just clipped off-stump.

Colin Ackermann also departed for one, caught behind off Dudgeon, with keeper Chris Benjamin taking a good, low catch.

A first half-century of the season for the new Glamorgan captain, who whips a ball from George Hill to square leg for a couple.

It's taken him 102 balls and he and Colin Ingram have so far added 69 for the fourth wicket.

Spin at both ends now from Sussex.

With a slip, leg slip and short leg in position, Stevie Eskinazi reverse sweeps Jack Carson and times it perfectly for four runs.

Rew replaces Smith and keeps wicket. Unless Jordan Cox scores a bucket of runs.

    Marten, Gillingham

The reason Rew won't be picked for the test side is that he plays for Somerset. England selectors dont have a clue where Somerset is.

    Paul, Somerset

On Day 2 I messaged to say that I thought it was going to be a long summer watching Kent... this has been an interesting 45 minutes! I shall message again when we are 25-5 chasing 350 haha...

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:45 BST 6 April

    Robinson c Muyeye b Dudgeon 4 (Durham 118-7 - lead Kent by 256 runs)

This might just be happening you know...

Durham are 19-5 in the past six overs.

Ollie Robinson is the latest go to, chipping Keith Dudgeon rather tamely to Tawanda Muyeye at cover.

The hosts lead by 256 but have just three wickets in hand and more than 86 overs left on a sunny final day. The pitch is helping the bowlers though, to temper Kent fan's enthusiasm.

Ben Raine joins another new man Kasey Aldridge in the middle.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:41 BST 6 April

    Bedingham b Milnes 48 (Durham 118-6 - lead Kent by 256)

    Now then...

Matt Milnes has another and it's a peach to oust dangerous David Bedingham, who steps back in his crease but can't get the bat across to prevent the ball jagging back to clatter the top of off-stump.

Durham fans might be getting awful flashbacks to Leeds last September.

Kent need four more scalps to set up a final day chase.

Too wide by Tom Price and Stevie Eskinazi is in position early before chopping it behind square for four easy runs.

He is 40 not out - and we still haven't seen an over from Sussex captain Ollie Robinson this morning.

Jamie Smith 64 and Dan Lawrence 25 have been tested by Chris Woakes and Ethan Bamber this morning but they've survived and have continued to score well.

Surrey are now just 17 runs behind.

    Northants 258 & 25-3 v Lancs 384 & 194

Nathan McSweeney and Luke Procter have set their stall out here and their job is to knock the hardness and shine out/off this new ball.

It would help their cause if they could lay bat on ball but they are finding it difficult with the maidens stacking up and Tom Bailey and Jimmy Anderson consistently beating the edge.

We are 13 overs in to the Northants innings.

    Rew lbw b Patterson-White 122 (Somerset 347 & 242-3 v Notts 338)

James Rew's vigil is over. He looks absolutely dejected to have to leave the field.

It's a second in quick succession for Liam Paterson-White who has plugged away and is now getting his rewards as Rew tries to help the ball across his pads but misses the ball and is thumped infront instead.

Tom Abell joins Tom Lammonby with both batters on nought and the Somerset lead 251 runs with seven wickets in hand.

Rew scoring runs is all very well, but how does he replace at 4 the world's best bat, 5 the world's second best ranked bat and at 6 a man who bends cricket to his will. Unless Stokes drops to 7, I can’t see him being picked.

Another over ticks by as Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace enters the BBC commentary box at Grace Road.

"The wicket is definitely not as tricky as it was on the first two days," he tells Radio Leicester's Richard Rae.

Sussex still need five wickets to win - Leicestershire require 326 more runs.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:33 BST 6 April

    Ackermann c Benjamin b Dudgeon 1 (Durham 114-5 - leading Kent by 252 runs)

Keith Dudgeon is summoned into the attack for the first time since Saturday.

His countryman David Bedingham moves on to 48* with a single off his first ball due to a misfield with Colin Ackermann on strike on one.

    AND HE'S GONE.

Some ball from Dudgeon to find the edge and Chris Benjamin takes a fine catch low to his right inches above the grass.

Ollie Robinson is the new batter, against his former club, who have their tails up at present.

  19. dropped catch

    Warwickshire 544 v Surrey 328 & 197-3

Warwickshire can't afford that. Jamie Smith edges Chris Woakes but Sam Hain at slip is beaten by the pace of the ball and can't grab it.

Woakes has been asking questions of the Surrey batters but Smith and Dan Lawrence have seen off the first half hour of the day and continue to score well.

It won't be long before Surrey are ahead.

  20. wicket

    Lategan c Guest b Aitchison 49 (Worcestershire 78-3 trail by 235)

Dan Lategan goes one run short of what would have been his second half century of the match.

Ben Aitchison gets into the act finding the outside edge for Derbyshire's second wicket of the morning.

He may well finish on the losing side but it's been a decent game for Lategan and Worcestershire appear to have unearthed quite a talent in the 19-year-old South Afircan born player.
